MHD coolant mode option

MHD has the checkbox for "coolant mode" turned on by default.

According to the MHD manual it means this:

Quote:
This flash option changes the oil and coolant temperature targets to give improved cooling
during spirited driving or for use in hot climates.
FYI: this question is not about Sport Cooling mode for intercooler.

My question: coolant mode is turned on by default but is this something I really want? Reading the description I would say I should turn it off, I don't live in a hot climate.

I am confused about this setting as it is turned on by default.

(Note: for info on the difference with the other cooling option see this post: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...85&postcount=5)

You sure it is on by default!? Doesn't ring a bell...

Ok, I checked again... I made a mistake...

Coolant mode is not a checkbox option, it is a dropdown box (stock/sport/track).

Sorry for the confusion.

Not sure what MHD's coolant mode is but in BM3 there is a "MAX cooling mode" which sounds similar. Essentially all it does is have the fans constantly running and the pump is always on. I'd recommend leaving it off as you said since this makes it more difficult for you to reach your operating temp.
