Blackstone Oil Analysis on BM3 Stage 2 N20
Just though I might share this for those interested. When I did my last oil change, I sent a sample out to Blackstone Laboratories for analysis, explaining to them that I've tuned the engine and modified a few things, and that I wanted to see how the engine was holding up to the extra power. They look for metals as well as fuel and coolant in the oil, among other things. I've attached a copy of my report, which thankfully contained good news. I'll also link the report explanations page on their website for those that want an understanding deeper than that which can be gleaned from reading their comments on the report: https://www.blackstone-labs.com/serv...54kfosh2y))%2f
Overall, I'm quite happy with how the report turned out

For comparison. It's always nice to see real data comparisons as opposed to anecdotal input. I'm probably due for another sample considering I've been beating the shit out of my car for about 20k on my current tune. May update that post in the near future.

I received my first analysis last month but haven't posted since the adobe acrobat here at my office doesn't seem to allow me to redact my address lol...I would like to share it as well.
EDIT: I note that my iron, phosphorus and zinc levels are much higher than yours. And I also find it interesting that down in the section relating to viscosity and flashpoint, the "values should be" are different on my chart than yours?

Quote:
The "values should be section" will be different because they are based on the type of oil used. That just shows that you and I are using different brands and/or types of oils.

Maybe we should see if a mod could create a new sticky for posting of oil analyses?

Not a bad idea, though the stickies have been the same on this sub for a few years now I don't know of any to @, but feel free!

I have a kit on the way. I'm interested to see how the report comes back. Mine is a stock engine with mostly highway miles.
