Where is good for gap insurance? I have new-for-old on my AXA policy for the first 12 months so would want one that can delay the start, and would cover finance (although with 0% maybe less of a risk so return to invoice may be enough?)

It's sat there for 9 months as it was registered in March. It's almost a year down on warranty and has no other options outside of m sports + so no reverse camera, digital cockpit, HUD, fold mirrors etc, but it's a very nice looking car and will absolutely be a great used purchase for someone.

I know you have a massive axe to grind, but it's still not the mythical 10k of instant savings, and it's been a week or so and you've popped up with one single example.

I'm not getting into a long debate on it again. You've made some statements, they've been challenged, but you only deal in absolutes it seems.

You said it wasnt possible but there is no shortage of cars coming on the market which are basically delivery milage brand new cars prereg.

You call them "used" to somehow bolster your argument and the new one is the reversing camera which is basically a nice to have.

Some would say that £8000-£9000 saving at the loss of a bit of new car warranty is acceptable, but since you are clueless about BMW's dont know that extra new car warranty can be purchased for about £550-£850 depending on model.

You can decide what to do what you want. My point is that this was possible and everyone on here said that it wasnt.

I call them used because you have to search for them on the BMW Approved USED website.

This is my 4th bmw, I know them quite well

Honestly don't bite mate. I'm not going to anymore.

The thread is helping people buy some cars and we're all getting help from existing owners so hopefully it stays on track.

Saving £20-30£ a month isnt a big deal anyway when you save £8k

I agree the car he's linked looks good value and although it's not laden with lots of different options the ones it has (M-Sport Plus, individual paint and merino leather) aren't exactly cheap!

It is however older then the 6 months always talked about and, despite protestations there are plenty to choose from, that's the only car on the AUC that's advertised at below £30k and hence matches the claimed £10k saving against new.

Nevertheless, it does show that if you're prepared to wait - and then react quickly when the right car comes along - there are potentially good savings to be had.....

having a bit of a discussion with my dealer today. In my naiviety I signed on 31st November and sent everythign back, so the car was registered then. Car doesn't actually arrive until 15th December. BMW FS say I shouldn't have done it, and I am losing some warranty time and won't actually see the car until after my 14days cooling off period for BMW Finance ends (although the car I suppose isn't technically linked to it)

Not overly comfortable right now. Have spoken to the manager as BMW FS advised the finance should start from the day I sign for the car and pick it up. technically though I have already signed for it (or at least it has been registered). What would happen if it turns up and is a dog for whatever reason?!!

Am sure this is just nerves but still... should have held out for registration on the day of pickup. Apparently it had to be 31st Nov to get the deal done but I have my doubts and this was never explained to me, they just casually mentioned registering it.

Am I exposed here more than I should be?

I think you should stop worrying and just wait for the car to arrive, then enjoy it.

Agreed - I would still moan about it to the dealer though and see if you could get anything thrown it. Contribution to a service pack maybe or towards some M Perf Parts, or whatever else.

Clearly they forced your hand on the last day of the month just to get better figures for the month, so for their benefit only. It wasn't fair play, FS says so as well, and now you expect something in return.

Mineral White perhaps, but the Std white just looks a bit flat to me.
Choice is a beautiful thing though so each to their own.
Here's my MG one.

Picked mine up in Bavarian Belfast on Thursday past.

420i Mineral Grey M Sport
M sport plus
Comfort access
Reverse assist camera

Absolutely delighted with the car so far. Im doing less than 8k miles a year so thought petrol was the way to go.
