Can you give us some more info? Which cars does it affect? What is the problem exactly? Maybe a picture of the letter?

I just got a letter in the mail today saying that remedy IS available. I'm in SE PA so it may depend where you live as far as availability. Interesting though that I never got a letter saying that the EGR remedy was available, but they replaced it two weeks ago.

Same here in upstate ny 328d 2014 .
I have an appointment for next week for the check of the transfer case.
Side note I had brought the beast in for the egr check recall last year. I believe it is leaking now as I have a sweet smell in the cabin and unexplained loss of coolant. When brought in the first time last year they only changed the gasket. Am I with in my rights to demand a recheck in light of the recent events?

Curious to see what the remedy is. I just got the letter this week stating no remedy was available yet. Regardless, I added loctite and the updated rubber guibo to my new tcase last year per enabled’s thread. That plus my tune may cause issues when having the recall looked at...

Absolutely, I don't know why they would only replace the gasket on the EGR as that has nothing o do with coolant. Another indicator for the EGR is white stains on top of the splash shields at the bottom of the engine bay. Coolant will drip down there and evaporate.

Me too, however I'm more concerned that they cover me replacing my Transfer Case just a few months ago. Luckily it was diagnosed by the dealer.

The recall involves replacing the flange as needed, plus a rubber giubo. If the flange had spun, then they will replace the transfer case + rubber giubo.
Unsure if flange is updated or what methods they would use to affix it better.

BMW should reimburse you if you supply the proper paperwork. I went through this process with the NOx sensor two years ago and they reimbursed me 100% even though I didn't have the service performed by the dealer. Good luck!

Figures...

I replaced the flange and added a rubber giubo myself a few months ago

Makes me kinda wish I'd held off and saved my money

And they will. Just make sure you have receipts.

Really? Seems unlikely to me

Nothing was broken I was just doing preventative maintenance.

Oh I thought you replaced a faulty part. You're correct, unless you have documentation showing it was an issue and needed to be replaced, then you could file for reimbursement.

Took my 2015 328d in for the EGR recall - they had the parts and told me while I was there that there was a remedy for the giubo. Got the new rubber giubo and a new transfer case installed (was that ever a surprise!) along with the EGR cooler recall and new NOX sensors.

It really pays to read this forum. I bought NOX sensors thinking I was over 50K miles and out of warranty. Stupid and expensive assumption. Now I have two brand new NOX sensors sitting in my garage for the next time, I guess!

I hope the transfer case and giubo retrofit take care of us for the foreseeable future. Love the way this car drives and handles.

Not quite. I took it in June 25th and it wasn't ready until July 3. I think they were able to get most of the parts, right away. But they needed to get authorization from BMW/NA, they said, to replace the transfer case. But to BMW's credit, they approved.
