Parking Sensor Hole Too Big
I’ve scoured the internet but I’ve resulted in no clear answer.
So I have an aftermarket front bumper with parking sensor holes. I’m not yet in a position to retrofit the OEM parking sensors so just want to put dummy sensors in for the time being. Now, on the outside of the bumper are 2 18mm holes, no problem here as the dummy sensors I have my eye on are 18mm. However the inner 2 holes are 30mm, here’s the question.... What kind of adapter or bezel can I use so the 18mm dummy sensors fit. Currently I’m using plastic hole caps that look, well crap. Any suggestions, or am I missing anything. Thanks |

The OEM M-Sport front bumper uses stuck on mounting brackets to hold the sensors.
The outer pair of sensors fit the hole cutout snugly (well with a thin rubber surrounding the sensor), as you have found. The inner pair of sensors are the same, but the bracket has an area that fits into the larger (30mm) cutout and takes up the space. These brackets need painting either with, or to match, the rest of the bumper. Brackets can come in packs, so you get all you need for a front or rear bumper in one order. For instance, for front PDC sensors, headlamp washer jets, and surround view cameras, all brackets come in pack with BMW part no. 51 11 8 065 982. |
