That's the part number for the Plumb Back version that is quiet. The part number for Dual Port version that makes noise, kinda like a loud intake, (because it vents to the atmosphere instead of being recirculated) is: TS-0223-1092. First units are trickling out to distribution right now.

As far as buying a used one and installing it, cool. Ughhh... but why? Did I step on your toes? Are you a fan boy coming to rescue? Not a debate about companies. Both products probably do well. Turbosmart’s Valve is not new, just new to the N55 and the only company that makes an actual plug and play valve. I was offering it as an option. |

Kies Motorsports just released a YouTube video showing Bryan installing the N55 Turbosmart BOV replacement for the stock Diverter Valve. He installed the louder Dual Port model on his car. He previously installed the quieter Turbosmart N55 Plumb Back model on my car. Link to video below. |

Haven't read the full thread but expect it to say not worth the trouble or money. A real pain to change. Do it once you upgrade the turbo.

Everyone told me, "With a stock N55 turbo it's not worth upgrading the Diverter Valve unless it fails. And the larger Pure Turbos Inlet Pipe won't have any performance effect until you upgrade the turbo." But I saw a post about Turbosmart so I called them and talked to a technical guy involved with the new N55 BOV rollout. The feature that appealed to me, compared to the stock DV, was how the TS intelligently bleeds off just the excess boast so that the power is right there when you step back on the gas. I have a personal hatred for turbo lag in a daily driver. He also told me that they observed a horsepower and torque gain, but they don't market this product line that way so they had no interest in dyno testing and promoting in that fashion. The Turbosmart performed exactly how he described. I'm really happy with the increased responsiveness. I had forgotten my interest in the Pure Turbos Inlet Pipe until I read a recent thread where two N55 guys with stock Turbos installed it and reported the same logged gains on their MAF sensor readings. They said that MAF readings correlate with horsepower. It was a perfect storm that both things happened at the same time. They are located near each other on the turbo side of the engine so it made sense to ask Bryan at Kies to install them both at the same time. The results were well worth it. I got a similar MAF sensor increase after installing the Pure Inlet but mine was actually higher than the other two guys. So I believe I'm seeing a combined performance increase from both the Turbosmart BOV and the Pure Turbos Inlet Pipe. I believe that I have maxed out the potential mods on my N55 EWG stock turbo on 93 octane pump gas. (The next step up would be a huge parts and labor $ commitment to a Pure Turbos Stage2 which I can't imagine doing.) I hope to test it on an AWD dyno in the Spring. Guessing 400hp +/-20hp, we'll see! |
