Bay Area Hobbyist Install

As someone who lives in an apartment in SF, I don't have the space or tools to complete my own bolt-on installs.

Would love to get a directory started of hobbyists who are willing to complete these more basic DIYs (think charge pipe, downpipe, etc.) for a better price than at a shop.

Open to referrals or self-promotion. Let me know!

Hey. Glad you got the whistling thing sorted. I've got a pretty basic set of tools, ramps, a jack, and stands. Enough to do most any maintenance and easy-moderate installs. Do you have specific parts you're looking to get installed?

FWIW, I installed my own cp, dp, catback, I do all my own oil changes, have done brake pads, front rotors and fluid, replaced rear shocks, did a coolant flush, replaced oil filter housing, oil cooler, and valve cover gaskets, replaced the serpentine belt, tensioner and idler pulley, changed my diff oil, and did my tranny fluid/filter change.

I haven't done spring/front strut installs (no spring compressor, but maybe when I finally replace my front struts). Oh, and I don't have a tire mounting machine or balancer.

DIY or Die Garage in San Jose. You can rent a lift and tools per hour. Can you give me more info on your car? I might have time (due to Corona) to do some side work.

Thanks, both, for the responses. I have a 2015 435i, and my next planned mod is a catted downpipe. Please PM me quotes! Appreciate the community here.

Wow, I had no idea they existed! Would've been handy for my tranny service.

@beentrev bariaga1

HMU. Might be able to work something out. Assuming you have parts on hand, including all ancillary parts like clamps, gaskets, etc. If you just need space, tools, and labor, I can probably make myself available.

I'll vouch for romemedrano, he's an actual BMW tech! And on the other side I'll also vouch for bariaga1 as a good dude, who bought some parts and had an install done by me in the past.
