Still loving mine after 4 months. See post on page 6. Added bonus - No more creaking and squeaking from front dash panels since installing

No. I did wonder if the oe bolts would still be ok with the addition of the brace's mounting plates, but it seems like they threaded in far enough. I figured Megan would have included new ones or at least said something about it in the instructions if it was a problem.

Yeah so I had to remove the small black cover on the drive side next to the strut. Didn’t want to cut into it. B58 engine, just an fyi for anyone looking at the Megan bar

Installed mine yesterday with factory bolts and your rt it's got plenty of bite. Gonna go test it in a bit.

Installed the Ultra Racing bar today and still haven't had a chance to drive with it on, looks good, feels very solid.

Update - I took it on a short drive, the reduction in body roll around corners and reduction in the nose dipping on hills is noticeable. For the price and ease of installation, this mod is definitely worth it.

Where can we find a rear upper strut brace/bar for the F30? I saw a YT video for a KC Designs brace, but I can't find any for sale online (from any brand).

Kc design of Taiwan offers one that installs in the trunk. I think you have to email them to get a price quote for parts and ordering. Also, there are a couple threads on here where people installed them and didn't notice they made any real difference like the front bars do.

I installed the strut bar from Turner Motorsports. Reasonable price, easy install and looks great. I cannot feel a difference in handling but it looks good!

just installed a forged aluminum one from Tsuyoi in Thailand. Came really fast and fits perfect. I liked that it utilized all 3 strut mount bolts. Only came in red, but whatever, the powdercoat seem pretty strong.

After looking at this thread I decided to pull the trigger on the Megan Racing strut bar. I just installed it. I did have to move one of the cables like someone else said but it was crazy easy to zip tie it lower. I also painted the ends to go with the blue of my car. I haven't driven it yet. I plan on taking her for a spin tomorrow to get some fresh air.

hi there ... You mention this uses all 3 bolt of the strut tower, did the strut move and mess up your alignment...or nothing happened when you unbolt all 3 strut bolt.

No need for an alignment as nothing actually moves.

You just take the bolts out and re torque to proper spec.

If you notice the two silver nipples sticking up through the body? Those are keeping the strut mount in place.

Very simple DIY.

Yeah this, the only difference in install is unbolting the stock reinforcement. You don't have to take it all the way off, only the points on the strut tower to lift it slightly to get the strut bar bracket under.

I just noticed that the strut brace I bought (Ultra Racing) does not have the two bolts connecting the horizontal bar with the mounting plates on the struts, instead it has solid joints. I wonder if this is stiffer/better or could result in failures sooner than if there were bolts that could be replaced and allow for some flex, if under too much stress.

The hinged vs non-hinged (the kind you have) braces situation has been debated on here before. People give one reason or another why they prefer hinged or non, but it really is not much different in my view. The good thing about the hinged bar is that the cross member alone can be removed for engine work, oil changes etc without undoing the bolts to the strut mounts. I've heard arguments that the hinged bar is not as strong because it allows movement between the two struts, but mine is very tight fitting and the bolts are high strength steel so I doubt it is really at a disadvantage vs the non-hinged models. And I also doubt that yours will stiffen the car so much that it will cause damage. Plenty of folks have been running strut bars for years without any problems of that sort. Slap it on and enjoy the improved handling and reduced creaking and rattling for just a few minutes' work!

Solid bar or hinge joint... people will always argue about which one is better but I can say that they will not break unless there are quality issues with the weld (craftmanship) or really low quality material.

The biggest concern here is the fitment issues. There is this black box next to the tower driver side (US cars) that seem some strut bar hit. And yeah I notice some cars don't have them
