New Tyres Query

Just after a few opinions on Tyres about to change all 4 after having original Bridgestones RF on from new, motorway miles have meant just over 40K done

Sticking with RF - best price is replace with Bridgestone or put on Goodyear Eagle F1 A2

Any difference or not

Thanks

My local main dealer said although the Goodyear is a good tyre its very prone to bulging on the side wall, and they have had to replace quite a few of them.

This is from a main dealer so i didn't take it as 100% gospel

Have ran a couple of sets of Goodyear Eagle F1 A2's with no problems with bulging and that is after hitting some very sore potholes. Ride will also be much much better. Will feel like Non runflats compared to Bridgestones.

Thanks Goodyear's work out at £558 at Kwikfit with their 20% BF offer for 19 inch tyres

I have the GY F1 Asy 3 RFs on my F11 (18") and they are superb.
Much better dry & wet handling than the Pirelli's that the car came with, quieter, and softer ride.
Highly recommended.
Got a great deal on them via Halfords last June.

I'm running Eagle F1 AS5s and they are great. Previously ran AS2s on my e91 and also no problems with bulging, very good tyres.

Was in a very similar situation about a year ago. Changed the Bridgestones after having done nearly 40k miles as well. Went for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy2 RFTs

First impressions were great, ride & handling improved and noise was greatly reduced. However after having been in for less than 1 week I hit a pot hole and the front drivers ended up with a bulge… not to worry changed the tyre and put it down to the poor road conditions.

Fast forward approx 1 week, after a run in with another porthole on the motorway I had another tyre bulge this time the front passenger. Changed this tyre and then learned of the issues Gooodyears seem to have with bulging

10months on and approx 18k miles, all bar one tyre have now got bulges!!

Now some will read this and put it down to driving style or road conditions, however this has never happened with any of my previous cars or tyres and I would consider myself a careful driver.

I will never again purchase another Goodyear tyre and will replace in the summer with some Michelin tyres. Note winter tyres will hopefully be on by end of the weekend.
