Trunk strut?

Hey guys I have a 2016 435i convertible and the trunk is super heavy. Seems like trunk struts have given out. Anybody have this issue? If so, was it covered under warranty? I have spoken to another guy with a vert and he said its always been heavy. Is the strut not supposed to help you open the trunk.

you could look to reposition the helper spring to the other location and that should help maybe. I had to adjust mine when i added a spoiler and the trunk wouldn't pop open instead anymore.

I have the same issue and adjusted the helper spring. It was good for only a couple of days.
Then again the trunk started falling down and cannot be kept in upper top position. Now should be held by hand when we put some stuff in it..
