Bilstein active shock suppliers

Hi all

Just crossed 100k in my car and the front left active damper has failed 😞

I’ve been looking at replacements and decided to swap both the fronts for Bilstein B4 dampttonic oe replacements parts 23-266476, 23-266469

Only problem is I can’t find anywhere with stock in the uk. Does anyone know of any suspension suppliers that would stock them and not appear on the google searches?

Also while I’m here. Would it be wise to replace the springs at the same time? I’m not bothered about lowering it as I visit some rough ground sites for work so need the clearance.

Can't offer any supplier advice unfortunately, but this is a large part of the reason I ran from my B16's and cut my losses.

Bilstein prioritise stock to major clients over consumers, which usually is fair business however the last time I enquired about parts I was told it could be months, they were diverting consumer stock to higher paying customers including stock that was promised to big retailers.

Same with their repair centres, the UK one in Leicester took 3 months before they even began to open my shipment.

Garage List
Bought some B6 Damptronics via POTN. Looked like they were shipped direct from Bilstein with no local stock holding.

Haven’t had much luck in finding some bilsteins as all of the above are out of stock and not expected until April ish. I can get a single shock from bmw for about £560 ish so might have to fork out for that and hope the right one doesn’t go soon after!

As above; have you tried POTN?

https://www.bilsteinsuspensionstore.co.uk/index.php

They're who I confirmed all the part numbers for my F31 (non adaptive) and they were great; alas I bought via Autodoc as their prices were much cheaper!

Re shocks; personally I'd always swap out both sides. It'd be sods law the other fails very quickly after the other sides replaced...

Sounds like it's pricey via BMW; as per the norm!
