I know tyres are topics that are done to death but i'm in a unique(ish) situation.
The not unique bit:

I'm on run flats all round.
Front: Michelin Radial X Pilot Sport 3, 225/40 ZR 93Y
Rear: Pirelli P Zero 255/35 R19 96Y

The unique (ish bit)
I have a slow puncture driver side rear and both the front tyres will need replacing soon as they are showing signs of cracking on the outer edge.
So basically all 4 tyres need replacing.

I was going to go Michelin PS5 however I'll only really be using the car for school runs and short trips and am on the look out for a G21 330e touring so will be upgrading soon.

So with all that said, are there any less expensive tire alternatives that aren't going to be too much of a downgrade? Bearing in mind I'll probably only get 5k out of them. I know for example that https://www.yournextcarltd.co.uk/ fit all their cars with Kapsen brand which look the part but then are they any good?

Never heard of that brand, if you wanted to drop in price I'd be looking at better received sub Premium brands like Hankook, Fulda, Falken, Kumho, Toyo. Even Nankang I believe are now not as bad as they were once.

Personally I'd never fit any brand I've never heard of; they look to be cheap/budget and I'd avoid for that reason]

The cheapest tyres I've personally fit and found them to be very good are Nexen N'Fera SU1s and Uniroyal Rainsport 3s / 5s

Have a look at them on the likes of Camskill/MyTyres/Tyreleader etc (they generally offer best prices; you just need to get them fitted locally)

They're non RFTs; but for short journeys (or any journey TBH) they'll be more than adequate

Hankook came fitted as standard on our VW Tiguan in 2019, got no complaints with them.

You could also look at Vredestein, never used their Ultrac Vorti+ summer tyre but have used their Wintrac extreme S and have experience of Quatrac, both which have been fantastic for the conditions they were designed for.

With the Wintrac Extreme had them on my F31's firstly the 330d with Steinbaur tuning and 340i both S drive (not x-drive) out in snow and nasty stuff, I could drive, turn & more to the point stop where some 4x4's got stuck or couldn't even get going. The last set I left on after winter as the tread was about 3-4mm and ran them in the warmer weather, they lasted to September and seemed to have bags of grip in wet summer weather, likely due to lower tread level and softer compound. Was very impressed.

I would certainly consider the Ultrac Vorti on that basis. Camskill have them at £124.50 for the 225x40x19 & £118.95 for the 255x35x19. = £486.90 for a set

The Ultrac Vorti's are superb tyres IMO. Ran them a few times on a few different E39s in 18" flavours and very grippy in the wet & dry

However, they can be a bit noisy/firm at times; then again if only doing low miles, shouldn't be an issue

Hankook. Audi use them as original equipment.

If private sale planned, stick to Conti Premium Contacts on it as they're a lot better than their name suggests and not mega bucks.

If trading it in, ditch finders will do.

I've used accelera tyres in the past on a big old shogun sport and a BMW E91. Can't remember the price but they were reasonable and they never lost grip. I used to throw that shogun around, was actually really impressed with them.

I went with Michelin PS5's all round in the end.

The price difference between these and Hankook and other such mid-premium tier tyres was marginal when factoring in the £80 cashback via Camskill:

They cost £662.80 before the £80 rebate and £50 for fitting via my local tyre centre.

I have to say the ride quality on the new types after coming off run flats is above all expetationds, despite me knowing they'd be better. It feels like a new car! Far more confidence in grip and the car feels more planted and stuck to the road. Potholes and speedbumps also have less impact. There's bound to be an aspect of a placebo effect but I say the car feels 5-10% better and is even more of a pleasure to drive. This is normal school run driving too so for anyone wanting to drive with more vigour I can vouch for ditching run flats and going with PS5s, especially if you get them on offer
