Go down to a quarter tank of fuel
Remove rear seats
Remove trunk Lining
Remove catback

If you get really serious, definitely swap smaller brakes/wheels. Find a salvage 320i and take the set off of it.
Thank you for pointing out the importance of rotational weight

If he's really searching for 1/4 mile times then those brakes need to go as well. He'd probably save 50 lbs just dropping down to base calipers, then another 20-30lbs dropping down to base size rotors. This doesn't even factor in the lower moment of inertia on the smaller rotors..

Edit: I'm guessing he'll find much better drag tires with smaller wheels as well. Proper drag tires will help his time more than any weight savings.
if he could find some 15lb 17s with some 255/45 tires (or better if he can fit them) and drop the pressure to ~20psi, he'd be in the 10's. just let the x-drive do the rest.
