I actually tried to order from AVIN Monday. They said they sold out. So I ordered from Navifly on AliExpress. I'll keep the forum updated as well. Navifly says they units are dGS so we'll see how that turns out.

Avin are using what they call Avin Av8, where every link is red. I wasn't fussed on it at all and Avin kindly supplied an Id7 file for me to install.

As for Bluetooth my phone connects to both Bmw Oem and headunit simultaneously. You can choose which side you wish to use for calls.

I don't use Waze but Google or in my case Copilot GPS Navigation directions can still be heard by the extra speaker supplied in the new type wiring loom when listening to Oem radio.

In my opinion it is a far better system and worth the upgrade, so far everything works as it should including steering wheel controls and OEM control knob.

Well I'm kinda wrong person to ask this question because:
1. Personally I think streaming Netflix or any other video platform in the car is... well, not the greatest idea, shall we put it this way.
2. I ditched Android and retrofitted NBT EVO, much happier with this solution.

Some people say that the Android is the greatest thing since sliced bread. But truth is, it's a buggy experience at best. Some can accept that and move one, others (like myself) can't and prefer robust solution.

If you want to replace your screen with Android unit, make sure that you get a genuine stuff. There are 2 units that run true Android 10 and 1 that runs Android 11. Android 10 would be Snapdragon 625 4/64 (and this is the one to get) or some specific MTK unit that I can't remember now. Android 11 is Snapdragon 662 6/128 or 8/256. Details on what is a genuine stuff and what is not can be found in the link I posted earlier. If you're not sure, just post a link to what you think is a genuine stuff that you want to buy and the community will help.

So all the A11 8GB/256GB models are running non true Android at the .moment? My Navifly A11 unit should arrive Wednesday and I'll install it ASAP and let you know how it turns out.

I just got back from my holidays (after submitting 10000 documents, certificates and covid test results), spent the entire day at work, then fixed an A11 related issues with the Drive Keyboard and (hopefully) circumvented the LMK (fingers crossed &#129310 and now it's nearly 2am... a man can only do so much.

Yeah, both look fine, just don't buy this Snapdragon (450 / 625 whatever that is) 4/32. Other units from both shops are legit ones.

Also, you would loose touchscreen on EVO but gain touchscreen on Android? Android headunits don't provide touch screen for both

Mine turned up today. It came with the wrong mount (LHD not RHD) so wasn't able to fully install it.
Visually, from the outset, all seems legit. But I'm here to ask your opinions from as much as you can tell.
I noticed they've even named the unit 'snapdragon 662', I hope its not them really trying to sell the lie...

You would really need to run Device Info or Hardware Info app (never remember how it's called) to see what you actually have as information you see in Android settings can be easily spoofed. But don't stress too much as it looks like a legit unit based on the KSW app version.

Avin's advice for me was to turn off notifications for this.
Enter Settings---Android---APPs ＆ notifications>>>Notifications>>>Notifications on lock screen>>Select third option " Don't show any notification"
Apart from this notification the head unit is great.
