Yes, once you begin update, and trigger new FSC Code requirement, a valid FSC Code must be entered.

But the one that was in the satnav is gone, the satnav doesn't work anymore

I know. Until a Valid FSC Code is entered, it won't work.

I have F32 2017 with NBT id5. I downloaded new maps but when trying to update them I get "please insert USB device with correct activation code". There is no option to manually enter FSC code anywhere.... please help.

ID5 Map FSC Code is a file, that goes on USB Drive.

FSC Gen does not work for ID5 FSC Codes.
