Looking for input. This exhaust is rather bland, and tends to be silent exactly when you wish it would have a little growl. Despite this, it sounds amazing on upshifts.
I'm considering pulling off the exhaust and replacing with 3 inch pipe and leaving the resonators. I fear this will be too ricey though, so another thing I was considering was either a resonator delete, or section 2 supersprint midpipe. Does anyone have experience with the results of resonator delete/midpipe coupled with M sport? Is this enough to turn heads? Also, if anyone has highway experience with a muffler delete, this is my main concern with that option as I take 5+ hour drives frequently. Catless downpipes are not on my list right now as I'm not ready to make the jump from stage 1 to jb4 to address the codes until I get a charge pipe. Otherwise, any tips on what to do are welcome! Thanks!

My MPE paired with a Fabspeed sport-cat downpipe sounds great. Even perhaps a little too loud for me at times, but I couldn't be happier with the rich sound and no annoying drone.
Any of the options you mentioned I personally think sound obnoxious; but this is a matter of taste. Others will find it not loud enough. It's going to drone though and on a "5+ hour drive;" it would drive me crazy. |

R$28i, is your car a 28i with a 4cyl N20/26? if so, you might want to post in the N20 subforums.
quick no cost trial is unplugging the exhaust valve,or removing it's fuse, while the valves open so it's open all the time. cold starts a a bit louder but with both pipes open in all modes it should sound sportier all the time. resonator delete or cheapest non resonated straight pipe will make it louder but may have some drone in high gear under load. |

Remove that resonator asap. There’s no drone on my n55. I’ve had it for 6months and it’s perfectly aggressive. Cold starts are a tad loud but hey, waddyagannado
