Congratulations and welcome. Great advises here. Consider euro mirrors - aspherical. They almost eliminate the blind spot. Bimmian.com has replacements or you can also find used in good shape on Ebay. The car comes with no jack or tire iron so consider buying a set - there are bmw kits including jack, tire iron and miscellaneous other items. A compressor and a tire plug kit could save you driving on a deflated tire that subsequently must be replaced. Run flat tires cant be repaired/patched if driven with no pressure. Good luck with your purhase and enjoy the bimmer.

Picked it up today 7/16/18

Fantastic. Drove it for a few hours and spent a few more hours trying to adjust all the settings, etc. There are a lot! More fun to drive than my former Boxster.

A few observations that I am wondering about......
....No Point of interest on the Nav system?? (Oops.....edit here....I found them)
.... Having a heck of a time trying to program a home address into Nav. Then, I guess there is no "home" button to quickly use when it is time to go home!!
.... I can't figure out the "ambient" lighting thing. Supposed to be two modes.....I can't recognize either. Have to experiment more I guess unless one of you guys can shed light on it. (not a pun)

You can program one of your 8 memory buttons to execute Nav to Home address if you like. I have it in number 8.

I would agree with you but most car designers don't create a decent place to put it. It's usually on the middle of a curved bumper skin that isn't even large enough to handle the vertical dimension of the plate. Most look terrible there, while back plates are nicely integrated into the rear bumper/trunk lid.

Great idea......will do it ASAP. I just applied one of these buttons to shutting off the data screen. Can get annoying at night if you aren't using nav or whatever.

I'm going to go against the grain here...but...don't overthink this. Do the obvious. Go over the car as closely as you can. Look for scratches in the paintwork, look to see if all the gaps are uniform around all doors, trunk and hood. Make sure all the lights including the the fogs have no cracks, look for dings in the sheetmetal, and look for scratches on the wheels. Then get in he can and just drive it. Follow Mfg's recommended servicing and wash it every week...but above all else, treat it like a member of your family and have a good time.

CONGRATS! Nice machine. Enjoy. Welcome!

ps...

Oil changes are a snap!

Good thinkin' !!!

The car doesn't have the smallest flaw in paint, interior, carpets. Would be easy to believe it was only a week old. I have 6 mo of warranty to determine if engine and trans are shipshape, but they certainly run right.

Enjoy every mile...and remember you can still get the extended warranty and service option as long as you are still within the original warranty period. A lot of people consider it money well spent.

2 sets sold in 24 hours since listing.

Bimmian.com does NOT have Autodimming or Autodip capability.

Crazy to downgrade if your car has these capabilities, imo.

Agreed, no reason to downgrade (not sure what OP has installed now). Ebay seller based in germany has OEM used "good condition" sets for $220 shipped.

To preserve the paint, another option to consider: ceramic coating. Reputable shops always perform paint correction procedure prior to application of CQuartz as an example.

You mean the same eBay seller who packages like crap and takes 3 weeks to arrive, only to open and find contents packed and exactly like this?

Then begin the long process of trying to export a return to Germany to get a replacement? And then the replacement arrives 3 weeks later only to find damage as well?

So you waste 90 days of shipping back and forth, wasting hours of your time dealing with eBay and Seller, not to mention 30-45 minutes at USPS office filling out Custom Forms every time.

That eBay Seller?

Bonus points. If you really want to do your research, you can find same German eBay Seller with a current listing for bottom mirror with the 2 damaged notches on it.
