New to me 2014 328i with N20

I just picked up a 2014 328i xdrive with the N20 engine.
The car has about 160k kms on it (around 100k miles).

I have been wondering what I should be doing for maintenance on it.

I have been thinking of changing the oil immediately since I'm not sure the used car dealer (not a BMW dealer) can be trusted on some of the maintenance.

Any recommendations on what all I should do the the car now that I have had it a week?

Oil, plugs, coolant, brake fluid? I can likely handle all of those things, but I haven't found a good post or thread with the maintenance intervals of everything.

I would like to keep the car long term.

So what I do my car has like 105k right now and fbo with e50 every 5k max change your oil I change it at 3.5k usually cause of all the mods as for plugs and coils just check them if the dealer has changed them already recently you don't really need to but if they haven't me personally I would change it.

Coolant and brake fluid are always great to do especially brake fluid I put mine off for a while and my brakes felt like crap bro once they service tells you to do it I would suggest doing it then. Coolant flush is always great to do did mine it's not hard at all their is a video on YouTube on how to do it it may seem hard but it's not just go step by step and it's simple.

I would definitely change the transmission fluid and filter.

If I bought from a used car lot, what you listed is what I would do as good measure: engine oil, plugs coolant and brake fluid. If you want to go the extra mile, you can do transmission fluid as well.

Get timing chain checked, or check carfax to make sure it has been changed already to the updated one.

Thanks for the reply.,

I'll start with this and see how I make out. I used the engine oik checker in the idrive before I bought the car and it was working and read full. So that looked promising.

After I bought the car but before I picked it up I was all over these boards and I read about the timing chain.

I looked in the oil fill cap and the chain looked okay, it had solid links as opposed to double plated ones if you know what I mean. There was no whine from the motor.

The build date was January 2014. I'm not sure what that means for the timing chain issue.

It means it has the old one, keep an eye\ear on it. Odds are it'll be fine.
