I don't like the look of F8x style bumpers on F3x cars. It always looks disproportionate, like a too low/droopy chin.

M3 bumper belongs on a M3. End of discussion.

first i would like to say.. If you like it then do it bro. Don't let other people's opinions change your mind about it. There's tons of people out there have done the m3 style conversion and i'm sure most of them are happy with the results. you can also google "m3 f30 conversion" and you'll get like a bunch of different pictures.
alright.. now i've done the M3 bumper conversion before so i can share some actual opinions that may help you rather then a bunch of folks talking about how m bumpers belong on m cars LOL 1. As pointed out.. the bumper does look a little awkward because the f30 doesn't have the wider fenders. so it literally looks like a shrunk version of the f80. 2. The aggressive styling of the bumper also has a lot of weak points. There isn't much material down there and hitting anything can really do some serious damage. The demise of my m3 style front bumper is when i hit a dip and it literally blew up my bumper in pieces lol. 3. if you end up getting the m3 style front bumper WITHOUT FOG LIGHTS (the f80 never came with fog lights and they look super awkward with them) you have to code the fog lights off. You can do this by using bimmercode and a obd2 cable to your phone. 4. i've seen people just do the front bumper but honestly... if you're going to do it then you should probably do the entire conversion because how aggressive the bumper is. again it's a part of the package.. just going to look awkward without the other pieces. I got away without doing the side skirts but whatever. check out my build thread. it has pictures if you're too lazy to look it up on google. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1626228 I forgot to mention that with the M3 bumper. There's a few different manufactures and they're all different. IF you do decide to buy the M3 style bumper then i would recommend going with the link below. I don't have any experience with them but apparently they make their kits look better with the stock lines of the f30. The picture below is stated to be one of their own customers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-Serie...EAAOSw5ZtaUWHF Last edited by Ownnij; 06-23-2019 at 11:20 AM.. |

The regular Msport bumper on the sedans and wagons always rubbed me the wrong, way, it kind of looked like a buck-tooth horse to me, the lower side grill openings are way to small, the M-Performance splitter helps with this, but it also makes the front end look a little heavy, especially if you color match it.
The 4 series Msport bumper is much more successful IMO (I mean, just look at the forum banner..,lol.) I looked into switching over to that but it would've required a lot of parts and possible some custom fab work on the fenders, I also don't like any of the 4 series or M3/M4 headlamps short of the full adaptive LCI ones ($$$.) The turn signal treatment on all the others looks either odd or cheap, depending on what version we're talking about. So I went with the M3 style bumper and added the optional lip:

The M3 bumper belongs on whatever frakin car it can go on.
This whole "if it's not a true M then don't put this on it" outlook is so outdated and unjustifiable. No one cares about how you think something looks and even more that you took the time to actually type out how you feel about it. To the OP, my vote goes for the M3 style but please make sure you get a good vendor or at least know a shop that will line things up correctly. It can look really good when done right and true to the opposite. |

It looks dope bc you've removed the f30 grill, headlights, and hood and installed the f32/f80's. You've also added the fenders to widen it out. I mean, you don't even have the replica bumper to fit the f30… you've converted your entire front end to the exact same as an f80. Looks amazing. But is way diff than throwing a fake shrunken f80 replica bumper on a stock f30. |

The M3 bumpers look better with the M3 flared fenders. Slightly odd on an F30.
