Sounds great. If you are financing, was the APR% deal any good?

Nice looking car / wagon.

The question is how months will you keep it?

We really need a sweep stake, I reckon until spring (post winter) 2019, so say 10 months

No, terrible APR 6.9% but the residuals are excellent. Have a few months to look around with my brother in law (finance bod) at alternatives but non dealer PCP is new to me. Bit of time to go

Easy answer to the finance question. Clydesdale bank are great to deal with and many many Porsche owners have gone that way due to the rubbish manufacturer rates. There are a couple of guys who have financed many Macans for guys on the Macan forum, PM me if you want their contact. They are great guys to deal with and car enthusiasts as well.

Congrats on the new toy. They do look pretty imposing, and seem to hold their value really well, which will be handy when you decide the sell it in October!

Was literally just about to say the same, and their rates are around 4.2%. Gfv will be lower but in reality that just means u own more of the car quicker. In all I would be surprised if they weren't £100+ pm cheaper.

Brill cheers Davy. Seems like I can only win from 6.9% starting point!

Yep, another vote for Clydesdale - ordered a Porsche and was doing finance with them, their service was much better than OPC Solihull...

Very nice.

I've always liked them in Firenze Red with the black roof.

So is the Velar and RRS very close to equal on spec and price - just size and style different?

Almost to within £500 when I tried to make it spec to spec. Crazy really. When I saw the release videos I thought JLR had a home run...and it is gorgeous in the right spec but somehow in person it just doesn't seem to translate to a £70k car.

The launch edition Velar with almost every option is .... £83k! Or about £18k in then £800 a month or so. Frankly bonkers as the entry is £44 to almost doubling the price on options and spec is weird.

After looking up lots of things it seemed a SUV either Tiguan SEL or Volvo XC40.

Though I did see Passat as you mentioned, it’s just such a bland thing!

We bought our Octavia from a broker and their pcp scheme. Skoda were doing 0% at the time but nothing like the discount. We got a pcp at 5.9 and comparing both deals even including the interest because of the discount it was still cheaper than the 0% by about 500 quid at the end.

Weirdest thing was the finance was with BMW FS! Lol.

I'm sure you covered it at the time but I don't remember reading it, why did you sell the X5.

Large SUV 4x4's aren't really my cup of tea but if I was going that route I think a RR would be my choice if funds permitted. Hope the OP enjoys it when it arrives even though it won't be anywhere near as much fun as his current M2; just horses for courses I suppose!

No denying it's a very nice car. Being of a similar age I'm not in the same mind set though and I'm still looking at cars that will do the family with as well as set my hair on fire!

My RRS hasn't moved since 2017.

You'll miss the BMW.
