New 20" wheels on my GT

Just installed new wheels and tires on my '16 335i GT xdrive. After a thorough research decided to upgrade my standard 19" wheels with staggered setup (225/45 fronts and 255/40 rears) to a new 20" setup. Since GT is a fairly large 3 series, I was looking for an aggressive stance, and hopefully improve handling at the same time.

The new set-up looks great, in my opinion. In terms of handling it is still hard to say as tires were installed today and they will need to be broken in a bit.

The following is the setup I used:
1. 20" 728M wheels (OEM Concept), 8.5 ET35 fronts (w/ 10mm spacers) and 9.5 ET40 rears.
2. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires, 245/35 fronts and 285/30 rears.

So far setup feels great, no rubbing in front nor in the rear. Will provide an update on handling part once the tires are broken in. Here are few pics from this afternoon.

Besides wheels and orange M Performance brakes, I have MPK, interior carbon/alcantara kit and remus exhaust. Also, installed black mirror caps.

if you really want to set off the aggressive stance, you should do a mild drop. An inch lower would make this look real sharp

Looks great! Do you have a rear view to get a perspective on the 285s?

I have 275 18s waiting for Apex EC-7s to deliver this weekend. I am looking at them wondering if I will get rub, so have studs just in case spacers needed.....
.... but you went 10mm wider!

Again, looks good. I don't thin Detroit roads could allow those 20's to survive though!

I was thinking of dropping the car, even ordered AC Schnitzer springs but decided against installing it. I felt that it would compromise the ride quality. Also, this is a GT car and seats between sedan and SAV (like X4 for example). The current wheel gap feels right on this GT, at least to me.

I purchased wheels from Anthony at OEM Concept. He is fairly active on the forum.

good call. with 20 inch wheels and acs springs and Michelin tyres it wouldn't have the ride of a GT(whether its a good or bad thing is personal preference).

Sweet setup. I want to upgrade to 19s but those 20s look badass. Forsure upgrading my brakes and calipers when they’re due.

Thanks. Very happy with both the look/stance and how the car feels on the road.

NICE SETUP! How did the orange brakes cost you and what did you have to do in order to retrofit them? I currently have the white non-paint brembos in the front and oem brakes in the rear. Wanting to convert to your setup later down in the future. Did you have to get new rotors in the rear?

It was not cheap, but managed to pick it up at a good discount, which was about 20%. I ended up buying a whole kit including the rotors. I did it at the dealership and I believe they did some software update as well as rotors are larger size from stock ones.

So with the 10mm spacers, are your fronts essentially ET25 offset? How close are they to the struts both front and back? Any rubbing over dips?

I am shopping for some staggered reps in 19s, that I want to put stock spec 225/45 and 255/40 tires. Just trying to gauge the offset tolerances... although I would love to achieve an almost flush look on stock suspension and without spacers.

You are correct. It is essentially ET25 offset. It is getting closer but no rubbing, in any circumstance.
