b58 MPE vs n55 MPE

is this much louder? do you think there is an ability to retrofit the 340i MPe on a 435i?

compared images of the 2 mpe's

seems like a good option for someone like me who wants something close to a muffler delete, but not fully deleted (muffler delete 24/7) with valve options. the new mpe seems like one pipe is just straight thru, no muffler if valve is opened while the other is going through a muffler. I have a downpipe which is why im hesitant of running 24/7 muffler delete aka straight pipe for me (except resonator)

I just installed the regular MPE on my 340i. I would say it's very similar to the N55 MPE. I believe the main difference is that since the 340i was tuned to have more burbles stock, the 340 MPE has really nice burbles when the car is warm so you don't need the MPpK to get them.

You don't need the MPPK for a lot of burbles on the N55, especially with the MPE or any other exhaust.

Ok, I meant to say the B58 burbles more in general, an observation many have noticed and stated here

There's two 'MPE's for the 40i cars, one of each types you've posted an image of. That is, a back box or a full exhaust. The full exhaust is only available with the MPPK, the back box is probably almost identical to the 35i one.

interesting, i didn't know there was 2 different ones. i just llooked it up and it seems the full exhaust deletes the stock resonators.

MPPSK comes as a Catback with valves. Regular MPE like I have is a valveless silencer (top picture)

Ahhh... very interesting. I was wondering my the MPPK wasn't compatible with the MPE.

So how does the MPPK work? Over certain RPM it just goes full muffler delete?

How does the MPE sound vs stock? I was hedging for the MPPK, but it's expensive up in Canada, so might just do the MPE. Really, I'm looking for a little louder exhaust note, which I'm thinking the MPE would satisfy that craving.

Recently installed the MPE on my 440iGC. It doesn't have a valve that I can see, like the stock exhaust had. Or am I looking in the wrong place?

If it has a valve you would have had to plug it in?

Let me clarify, I didn't install it myself, the dealer did. Can anyone confirm if a valve exists? If so, where can I find it?

For the stock exhaust on N55, the valve is on the driver side. You can actually see the valve looking into the exhaust, and you can also look underneath and see where it is plugged in.

See this thread for some pics/info. https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=819125

I'm sure you can investigate to figure out if yours is valved, it should be pretty obvious.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm trying to find out if I could do the opposite and put a 340i mpe in a 335i.

the axlebacks (technically mufflers) should all be interchangeable on f30's & f32's, its the midpipes that are different because of the section that connects to the DP.
