Navigation slow UPDATE: UK-specific issue with RTTI

I haven't used the sat nav since I collected it from the dealer, will update if its still playing up over the next few days, was promised a full tank of fuel for my 3 trips to the dealer

It does look like the RTTI info is making things run slow... I reverted to 2017-1 and from the trials this weekend, things are still slow...

BMW taking a while to fix this one but hope things improve - I wish I was more patient, took the car to a local coder last for diagnostics - guy connected a laptop and told me there are no errors and a lot of the software in the 2013 car! is out of date - £50 down the drain...

Another one here with the same issue. 330d, May2015 reg.
Hit the programmed "home" hot key, and it take around 20 secs to settle on a route, which would usually be a few secs...

Had this problem as well but it seemed back to normal on the commute home last night, fingers crossed they've fixed it!!

Just called BMW SERVICES & they have confirmed the issue was fixed yesturday & has fuked up again today, the problem is with the maps & RTTI.

Whatever they are doing I have a 3G connection and 2013 NBT tech... Planning to keep the car for another few years, need to look around see how I could get Carplay onboard.

On the way down to Wincanton today, the system rebooted and came back up working fine, so maybe they've rolled out a fix (at last!!)

Fixed for both mine and my wife’s car. Yesterday morning a route took 45 seconds to calculate and by the evening the route calculation was much quicker, probably 10 seconds or so.

Installed 2018-1 again and drove a fair bit during the weekend... I would say the system feels better but still not as fluent as it was before I renewed RTTI.

One more update. Got this from BMW UK via twitter DM:

"There is currently a minor issue with the RTTI service - this is causing performance issues with the navigation system in the iDrive systems of our vehicles. This is currently being investigated by our central ConnectedDrive team in Germany and we hope to have a fix in place as soon as possible. As a temporary way to improve the performance, deactivating “Receive traffic information” within the navigation settings, results in an improvement in the speed of operation of the navigation system. We're sorry for any inconvenience caused. If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know."
