Ahh I see. I've been offered the latest Nav update by the dealer. Currently on 2015 but reading this should I perhaps wait?

Update from Bmw twitter team via DM when I asked :
There is currently a group-wide issue with the RTTI service, this is currently with the ConnectedDrive team in BMW AG (Germany) They’re working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue, from my understanding customer’s RTTI are being effected due to the 2018 updates being applied to our vehicles. I’ve been informed once a fix has been found this will automatically be implemented, and no customer action will be needed. Once the issue has been resolved, we’ll be happy to extend your RTTI service for the time the service has been compromised. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Mine seems to be running ok its just the start that takes too long, this is starting to be a joke, its been going on for a while now piss poor service.

Further update from bmw social media team:
I'm afraid due to the scale of the issue, we don't have a definitive time frame as to when RTTI services will be back to normal. We have had a number of customers saying that they've got full functionality back, but there hasn't been any pattern as to which customers are resolved first. We have hd same issue on a previous car but just a case of them hooking up to BMW Germany AG and downloading it back on. They should have taken a copy.

Yes, all sorted now it was just a case of reloading it back on which the muppets should have done before letting the car out.

The Nav/RTTI seems to be working as normal for me now. I see others are still reporting issues:

Updated to 2018-2 few days ago tried a couple of addresses & the load time seems to be normal, RTTI is there but haven't used car as of yet.

Hi Everyone. Can anyone tell me if the RTTI system is working normally now. Having got a full refund from BMW of £40 in May I am tempted to try it again for the "try it" price of £1. I have asked BMW if i buy the "try it" for £1 and it doesn't work when can i retry it again? Next Month? next year? BMW's answer was a little vague. Anyone know?

Update on RTTI
I bought the £1 try for a month to see if they had fixed it. That's a NO. It is exactly the same as it was in March. I rang bmw and asked for a refund. They told me there's no refund for the £1 but they did give me an extra month. So that's 2 months of RTTI that doesn't work, nice. I read that it could be fixed by deleting and reinstalling the maps BMW denied that. I could rant on about how disgusting a service from a worldwide company but it's a waste of breath.

I installed 2018-2 few days back but haven't used car yet, ill be using it tomorrow so ill report back, so far its a shambles & disgraceful.

I'm new to Bimmerpost.. I too have issues with RTTI on my 320D GT. My dealer is saying that the issues are UK wide, not Europe.. The technician dealing with my case said a few weeks ago it could take 6 weeks to roll the updates out, but still having issues!
I'm also trying to get the new 2018-2 Maps, but when I log into MapUpdate, it only offers me 2018-1. |
