Question Need help!BMW F30 N20 JB4,CATLESS VRSF,AIR INTAKE INJEN

Hello everyone,

I live in Canada and there aren't many BMW professional in performance parts. So please help me;

I have a 2014 BMW 320I XDRIVE with electronic dump valve which runs on 91 octane rating. I drive map 2 with my jb4 without any settings change on the jb4.

Here are the changes:

SHORT RAM INTAKE INJEN

VRSF RACE DOWNPIPE
https://www.vr-speed.com/vrsf-catles...0-f32-f33.html

JB4
https://burgertuning.com/collections...oducts/n20-jb4

I do not know much how jb4 works and do you think I am correct to run on map 2 with the modifications I have?

If possible, I would like you to help me either configure a custom map or advise me.

I am ready to provide my data save from my jb4.

Sorry I speak French
Thank you for your answers

If you are going to increase boost you should upgrade the intercooler. Someone else more familiar with JB4 maps can chime in as to which is most appropriate.

Map 2 is good to go with 93 octane or higher. It is recommended to have upgraded dp, which you have.

Map 1 for fuel quality below 93.

However, strongly recommend adding a upgraded charge pipe and intercooler if reliability is any concern.

Garage List
Quebeckiztan gas is bad quality, i'd run a more conservative map.

Thank you for your answers!
I will focus more on map 1 and do you have any suggestions to set my data to a conservative map?

You can use map 6 if you want more conservative than map 1. If I recall map 1 adds 4psi over stock boost targets map 2 will add 6psi over stock boost targets.

With map 6 any value below 10 will be a boost addition. So you put 3 in for the corresponding rpm value and 3 psi will be added for that rpm. Any value above 10 and it will become a boost target. So you put 11 and your boost target will be 11psi.

You can also give map 5 a go. Its an auto tuning map that will adjust boost based on multiple engine parameters. It will actually learn down to stock boost levels if fuel quality is seriously bad.

Map 1 is fairly conservative, relatively speaking, when looking at performance tuning. Definitely will want intercooler and charge pipe upgrades for reliability.

If there is concern about the aggressiveness of the tune in relation to fuel quality, you need to take a log and review for timing issues.

Given that you are new to jb4 I recommend you stick to map 1 or 5 until you learn its intricacies.

The jb4 is a robust tuning platform, but if you are looking for a set and forget out of the box tune, you may be better served by a flash only tune like mhd or bm3.

Just realized I've been spouting info for the n55. You have n20. The advice still holds however.

These are the maps for jb4 n20:

Map 0: JB4 disabled.
Map 1: PWG models absolute target 21psi peak, EWG models additive 4psi peak over stock.
Map 2: PWG models absolute target 22psi peak, EWG models additive 6psi peak over stock.
Map 3: Progressive Methanol Injection. Requires BMS methanol kit or BMS FSB for meth pump control.
Map 4: Stock performance, JB4 on
Map 5: Absolute targeting map with a peak boost 17psi. Suitable for 320 & 520 applications.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas absolute target map. Peak boost 23psi. This is a fairly aggressive map and increases engine damage risk. Use with caution.
