335i, MPE or Remus Back Box?

Dear all,

the 335i sounds very quiet, so I want to hear a bit more to go with the already good performance. I have had MPEs fitted to my previous cars, M135 and a 328i, so i was wondering if i should go down that route (Cotswold fitted price is £840) or go for something different, i have found a remus on eBay in Austria for around £830 that will need fitting in the UK. does anyone have experience of both? is the remus better, or should i just go for the tried and tested mpe?

thanks
Will

I have managed to buy a new Remus back box and end things for just under £700 from an Austrian eBayer. hopefully will get in a week and get it fitted. I am excited to hear how different it is to an MPE.

Will be interested to hear how that sounds. I'm currently waiting on getting my resonator removed and a the back box modified.

I'm confident the Remus exhaust setup will be more exciting than the MPE. MPE is what the 335i should sound like standard. I heard a 435i with an Eisenmann exhaust over the weekend, that's how I wish my car would sound. I was embarrassed to start my 335i with MPE after hearing the Eisenmann exhaust.

MPE all day. It has a valve unlike most cheaper aftermarket systems.

Yes everyone will say it sounds weak because they turn on the car and rev it immediately after.

You need to wait a couple of seconds for the valve to open up. It sucks that it's not 100% controllable with a switch.

But the tone is perfect and 0 drone even when you remove the resonator.

Well I paid for it today. So it should arrive by Monday I think. I just wanted something different to the mpe, as I have had it before and the initial noise was occasionally excessive. Remus sounded good on various YouTube videos.

Be interesting to hear how the Remus back box only sounds. I've got the Remus cat back on mine.
