Alternative tires for F30

Hi to the USA

Hope you don’t mind but I posted this on Uk forum but the modding scene is much rarer over here and people tend to stick more with factory spec. My post on uk forum is here and cut and pasted below. Advice would be really appreciated. Huge 6-7 hundred dollar saving on alternative.

I’ve the 405m in 20”. The standard tyres are hideously expensive and lacking in availability at the high st tyre places. I’ve found that in the US they’re using 245/35/20 in front and 265/30 rear.

I’ve read in one post that I can use 245/35/20 front and 255/35/20 rear but they looks to be quite a big difference. I’ve no idea! Getting the tyres in these alternative sizes is around £500 cheaper for the same tyres, so huge difference in cost!

I’ve shown tire comparison of stock vs proposed tires for the 405m 20”.

According to the poster .BMW. In a post from April 19, I can use these sizes. Can anyone else confirm please?

on rwd with OEM 20"...

245/30/20(25.8")-255/30/20(26") best performance, or
235/35/20(26.5")-245/35/20(26.8") more sidewall, better ride but slightly poorer performance due to taller gearing

Listen to whatever Alohasurftoad tells you. He is the BimmerPost wheel/tire guru. Has given me great advice for years.
