New Tyres needed
I need to get a new set of tyres for my car & have Michelin PS4S on the top of my lost.
Just wondering if anyone knows of any decent deals just now ... am happy to get them delivered as have a local guy that does a great job of fitting them. Its 19" staggered ones that I need

I found when I was looking for them that the prices changed daily but also that if you don't need to get them immediately you can price track and as soon as they come down to a reasonable price, you can buy them. I compared Oponeo/Camskill/Costco/Black Circles etc over a week or two, and you'll usually find that if the Eagle F1 is on offer then the Michelin will soon follow, and vice versa.
What I can say is that you're not going to be disappointed in the PS4S. They won't last half the time of the OEM Bridgestones but they're night and day, especially on greasy country roads covered in diesel, mud and everything else that accumulates. |

I've got the AS5's on the Impreza and they're pretty bloody good too. Unfortunately the Impreza is about half a ton lighter than the 335d and is on 225/45/17 rather than 19's so it's basically impossible to compare the two directly. Tyrereviews suggested the PS4 was slightly softer side walled than the AS5, and the PS4S firmer than the AS5. Unfortunately the PS4S weren't available in 17" at the time I bought the AS5's. I think they're all going to be pretty close to each other in 97% of driving tbh, it'll be the 'really bloody pushing on' that you notice it, and longevity.

Just checked with Costco & michelin deal is back next week (£80 off 4 tyres)
Currently the PS4S's are 153 Fronts & 151 Rears ... will be a bargain if same price next week

Two weeks ago I had my fronts changed to Michelin PS4's , for £321 fitted and balanced , they are a very nice ride. A mate has a tyre business , usually truck tyres but he sorted it for me. I was happy with the price.

I got mine from Black Circles a year ago, they were the cheapest.
Try the prices on Black Circles, Oponeo, Tyre Leader, Camskill. They'll tend to be cheapest. Can always see if a local place will price match for you, some will if you then pay their fitting on top. Seems to be £10-15 per corner for fit, balance & disposal. Sometimes can get it a bit cheaper for loose wheels. Last time I paid £40 for all 4 loose, (they offered £30 if I took the old tyres back, but then I'd have to get rid) Gone are the days of chucking someone £10 cash and a £3 Tesco meal deal to do it on their lunch break.

I have found our local dealership to be good at being very competitive matching prices both with black circles & against local supplier/fitters quotes. They also did a nice discount on a full geo for my old man when his X3 went in for new boots and it flagged there were alignment issues, also as he found out to his advantage if you are a BMW car club member you get pretty good fuel voucher discounts on Pirelli when fitted by dealerships or Pirelli centres.

Bought the set of PS4S's today from Costco ... They managed to source the front tyres from an alternative supplier, as they were not showing up on line ... Total including fitting came to £543 .... The tyres will be in stock by the end of the week .... Costco is only 3 miles from my house so it's no hassle to go back.

Just paid £582 for x2 225/40/19 mps4s* and x2 255/35/19 mp4s non star (* currently not available in the UK) from Kwik Fit. A good job to be fair - I made sure I took pics (and showed them) of my recently refurbed 442s so there wouldn't be a debate about damage, but nothing to report. They even threw in a tracking check and adjustments for free.

Got all 4 tyres in the end from Costco, must say big difference from the Bridgestone runflats and really happy with them!
All fitted while we did the shopping and no damage caused so a thumbs up for Costco Leeds. Have a compressor in the car, just need a can of tyre weld or something now to make sure I stay legal. |

I bought my last set of Goodyear’s from Asda tyres. Bizarre, I know, but they were the cheapest and I got a £50 voucher which I spent on the missus.

Potentially taking this thread in another direction…..
I'm looking to buy mew winter tyres for X3. Not much availability (not sure if it's Brexit related and / or too early to buy). But options on "my tyres" - there reviews look bad! Think I would rather use "oponeo" as I've used them before. A wee bit more expensive. But would rather get the 4 tyres!!!! Looked on "tyreleader" - but mixed reviews again. Anyone got any experience? Thanks |
