Removing Genuine M Performance Kit
Evening all,
Girlfriend has just bought a F31 to replace her F30. Both sitting in the drive. We had the M Performance kit fitted to her F30 when she bought it 18 months ago, but with a dog we need a touring now. I'm going to transfer the rear diffuser and gloss black grills over this weekend but a little concerned the front valance\splitter could be bonded on and leave a horrible mess behind. Does anyone know how BMW it? I also plan to remove the side stakes, obviously leaving the decals on.. should be a straight swap right? Will leave the boot spoiler on of course. G |

As above - if it was fitted by the dealer the front will be betalink - dont even bother… if you manage to get it off without damage it will leave a horrible mess behind.

If as above it would be cheaper to leave it on and just buy another for the F31, repairing the damage in trying to get it off will be far more expensive.

As others have said. Absolute PITA and will leave a horrible mess. When I had a respray of front number on old car at local body shop, the guy there removed the splitter. Said it took him flipping hours to get off and he had to do loads of prem to get it to a stage where he could paint it. Even then if the splitter hadn’t gone back on it would have been trashed. Don’t do it!
I got a really good deal via coopers BMW. They had it on EBay for full kit and gave even more discount when I phoned. Think it was £600ish for the full kit (no wheels of course!). May be worth ringing a few dealers- old stock that they won’t be shifting much of now. |
