2016 340i
Stock adaptive dampers with Eibach 2-22 springs (RWD) EC7R wheels 18x9 et42 front and 18x9.5 et45 rear Tires are pilot sport AS4 255/40 front and 265/40 rear. No rubbing and no spacers. I had purchased 10mm spacers for the front but didn't need them. The front tire comes up right to the strut but doesn't rub on it. I was able to slide a piece of paper between the tire and the strut. Factory alignment specs. |

What would be the best tires fitment without any issue for Apex ARC-8
Front 18x8.5” & Rear 18x9.5 on 2015 335i stock suspension. Currently the car is on factory staggered setup of 18x8 & 18x8.5 Or if square setup of 8.5 would be good for a change? 🙏 |

Took advantage of the Labor Day sale and picked up arc 8’s in size 19x9 et 28 anthracite. Square set up for the xdrrive with Michelin PS 4s 245/35/19.
It’s lowered with Eibach 15-22 but you can’t really tell because of the xdrive gap I’m working with I’m going with 255/35/19 for my next set of tires. |

Anyone know if 18" SM-10 are generally available in that bronze color? I wanted a set for winter wheels but can't find them.

New wheels
Hi Expert@ApexWheels Im looking to Improve the look of my F30 and hopefully make it stand out from the croud without putting future buyers off. I have 19" OEM staggered setup atm on 442s. I have no plans to mod the suspension as its under warrantee, Im guessing changing the wheels wont break that..... I remember getting deep into threads about staggered vs square but Ive totally forgot everything, did I read that going square will offer better handling at the expense of MPG? Could you please show me some options and refresh the pros and cons of a square setup? I like the Arc-8s a lot.
Many thanks Alan |

Square Vs Staggered doesn't typically play a large role in MPG, that comes down to specific aspects like the tire models you choose (high-efficiency tires optimized for MPG vs performance tires optimized for grip et c). The handling does change, but whether it is better or not with a square fitment depends on your goals. Broadly speaking, square fitments lead to an increase in front grip and more balanced handling compared to staggered fitments where rear grip is prioritized. Square fitments understeer less and are more neutral compared to a staggered fitment. This is being said in the context of a rwd car. The main advantage of a square fitment in my opinion is an economic and fitment one. If your car is xDrive, square fitments with the same sized tires front and rear are automatically xDrive-compatible which is a big win. They also allow you to rotate wheels and tires between the 2 axles unlike staggered fitments which allows you to wear the tires more evenly over the life of your tires. 18x9 ET30 square is our most popular fitment for the F30. It works well with a variety of tires and on xDrive or RWD cars. It also sits flush to the fenders without spacers. If you're looking for a staggered fitment, 18x9 ET30 front and 18x9.5 ET35 rear is our most popular option. If you want to look at other setups or diameters along with notes based on tire size, I'd recommend reviewing our fitment guide. -Tom

F31 3 Series Photoshoot: ML-10RT in Machined Lip Anthracite 18x9 ET30 has become our bestselling fitment for F3X 3 and 4 series over the past few years and with looks like this, it’s easy to see why. The lower offset wheels sit flush to both the front and rear fenders while running the same wheel and tire size front and rear ensures you have both the ability to rotate wheels between the front and rear axle as well as guaranteed xDrive compatibility. The new ML-10RT offers F3X owners a lipped wheel with a classic motorsport design and forged construction. It also clears even the F8X spec brakes with 380mm rotors this owner opted to install. 18” square: ML-10RT in Machined Lip Anthracite Front: 18x9 ET30 Rear: 18x9 ET30 Tires: Nitto NT01 Front:245/40-18 Rear: 245/40-18 Big thanks to our Photoshoot Volunteer for letting us shoot their car! Currently on 245/40/18 square with factory wheels. From what I've read it sounds like 18-9-ET30 is the go-to recommendation. Should I take anything into consideration with my current wheel spacers (12/15) if I am to leave them on?

Leaving the spacers on with the new wider and more aggressive wheels would push them out enough that they would likely cause rubbing. -Tom

Hey guys I’m looking to buy a set of Apex arc 8’s for my f30 335i RWD , my tires are Front:235/40/R19 and Rear:255/35/R19
Would Front:19x9 ET 28 and Rear 19x9.5 ET 33 fit without any other modifications ? Or would there be better sizes to opt for ? I’m on stock ride height btw and don’t plan on slamming the car maybe a small drop in suspension down the line. Maybe 19x8.5 ET 35 front and 19x9 ET 28 is better ? Lmk please !!! |

I am looking at getting a set of 19 inch VS-5RS for my F31 RWD 340i, I also want a square set up in place of the factory staggered set up so I can rotate tyres. I am between either the 19x8.5+35 and the 19x9+30. Ideally I would prefer the 19x9 as they are wider and more look more aggressive, however if possible I want to run 255/35-19 tyres as this will keep the factory diameter and I don't really want to run any less sidewall than I currently am. Therefore I am thinking the less aggressive 19x8.5 may suit me better
Apex fitment guide suggests 245/35 for both of these setups though, so I am wondering if I can run either of them with 255 width tyres? I am currently on the stock M sport adaptive suspension and stock springs/ride height, and I definitely don't want any rubbing as this is my daily. Can anyone let me know if either of these setups would work with 255s? And if not, is there any noticeable decrease in comfort or performance going from 255 to 245 sections? Thanks in advance! |

A 255/30 is what we would usually recommend on our 19x9 ET30 for our F3x fitment. a 245/35-19 may also be used, but it could cause rubbing depending on ride height. You may feel a little more sidewall support on the 245/35, but you would likely not have a massive performance difference between the two. If you plan on staying at stock ride height, I wouldn't see much of an issue with any kind of rubbing with these setups. You can go to a 19x8.5 but it will be much less aggressive and not as flush to the fenders, but would have less of a chance of rubbing. - Jasper
