Unfortunately I cannot expand quite yet. Another member in France said he was able to do it with ISTA/D, which is also available for download. It is something that can easily be done at a dealer, but you would run the risk of having them questioning things.

In my case, I had taken my car for service and they noticed the error and tried calibrating them, but I had them stop trying to diagnose it. SO I am guessing that when they did that, they finally activated my sensors, but I still had the one that wasn't working. I have no way of actually knowing cause I did not try to diagnose mine until after the dealer calibrated it.

So when you say it's functioning but not working due to a bad leveler, do you mean that the warning is gone? Or that the activation changed something that you're seeing in E-Sys and now you have a path towards integration once you replace the bad leveler?

I have a friend who is a dealer tech, maybe I could inquire about the leveler activation next time I get the chance.

I anxiously await further info from your experience

Well I certainly have an error as a bad sensor will throw the same error, but after interrogating it, one sensor is reading good (giving off the correct height data to the headlights) and the other is reading bad (which is not what it was reading before (both bad)).

However, the person I mentioned in France, has no errors and his autoleveling function is working perfectly, as I expect mine will when I replace the faulty sensor.

jj1336: it's commonly accepted that anything you modify that results in damaging something will not be covered under warranty. there is no such thing as voiding the whole car warranty that I have ever heard of, you would have to really do something stupid to do that and the dealership would have to be pretty evil.

SJ00: if you are looking used, you have to realize that you will likely only find these from 335s and you are only dealing with two years of production cars. the lighting package isn't that common on 320s and 328s, plus now a lot of people are going to be looking for them now that there is a retrofit available. another thing to realize is that most totaled cars are damaged in the front so salvage parts will be harder in that aspect. set up alerts on ebay, expand your ebay searches to international, check car-parts.com for used ones (make sure you search 335s and know what you are getting with the headlight), and of course some parts are just going to be have to purchased at the dealership. Good luck with it though.

Has anyone retrofitted a 2014 with nbt with the xenons? It seems that the coding is different from the 2012 and 2013's. Any help with this matter would be much appreciated.

NBT has nothing to do with it and I don't see how it would be different. FEM and ICM are the only ones affected

can i just confirm that i can install the xenon lights as a stand alone and not install the auto leveling and get no errors?

Im attempting to install xenon's on my f20 and im hoping it will require the same coding and wire placement

Yes, for the F30, you can do the adaptive headlights without the auto leveling without error. However, I would not just assume the wiring is exactly the same for the F20. I would not risk damaging something, especially the FEM, by just assuming. Try and get some wiring diagrams first. I have fitted mine but have a couple of issues.
The high beam does not work, and I don't have c_blc_ena in any folder
when i search it says its not there.

Anybody any ideas?

You want C_FLC_ENA, not BLC. If you're trying to enable AHL, just add 522 and 524, then VO Code FEM_BODY. Then deactivate C_FLC_ENA

I successfully retrofitted Xenon lights to my 2014 328xi yesterday. I added 522 and 524 then VO coded FEM_BODY. I then disabled C_FLC_ENA since I don't plan to retrofit the leveling sensors.

Everything appears to work fine except I'm noticing something odd with the light distribution on the passenger headlight. When I turn the car on, it does it's pre-check of both headlights. The driver's side then goes to the left while the passenger side stays straight. If I turn the wheel all the way to the right, the passenger side does turn as far as it can go so I don't think it's a hardware issue. When I drive above 30 mph, the driver's side then goes straight but of course the passenger's side is already straight. Is this normal behavior or is something wrong? I would expect both lights to go out to the side under 30 mph and both to go straight above 30 mph.
