This INFO is FREE and PUBLIC !

Your car has an EVO ID5/6 unit. In order to install a map update on this type of unit a patch needs to be applied to the unit (or you can always buy yearly subscription from BMW). The patch can be applied by ENET cable (and Windows computer - on any SW level) or by USB stick (on certain SW levels -> check chart). The patch will give you lifetime map activation (for future updates you need only the map data, no more asking for activation code), CarPlay (full screen or half screen -> check chart), Video in Motion, BMW Apps, Screen Mirroring (for Android phones).
This patch is not for FREE but you can buy from people selling here on the forum (they will contact you in PM for sale) and the price ranges from 50 to....whatever one wants to ask!

Map data you can get for FREE on other topics here on the forum -> check forum

The patching process by ENET cable is usually done using a software called Feature Installer (always use the latest version). You only need a code that you get from the people selling you the patch. Patching process is done automatically after you click "Start".

You must know that once the EVO unit was patched, any visit to the BMW dealer will deactivate this patch and you need to re-apply it after. The codes are reusable, so even if you upgraded to a new SW version, your Feature Installer code will work (on the same VIN of course)

Hello,
I am a new owner and am entirely new to this and have just started to dabble in coding but I am noticing that my maps are pretty old, and I have no idea how this all works with getting them updated. I've been reading the posts on here but honestly, I am a little lost on what it all means.
I have a 2016 320i.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

there is no Cyprus map for NBT. Your best solution is to retrofit an NBT EVO because EVO map covers Cyprus !

even if you convert your NBT from Japan to ECE you still won t be able to use it in Cyprus, there is no coverage of Cyprus for NBT (NEXT maps). Conversion would be useless if you use it in Cyprus

No, you have NBT (NEXT), not NBT2 ID4 (EVO).
