Look the same, no drilling and a bit cheaper
How did the gas pedal go on? Is it pretty secure without drilling into the pedal? I wonder how East it would be to remove.

I've got the no drill. The gas pedal cover slips over the existing rubber cover. You'd think it'd be loose but it fits quite snug. Had my for just under a year now and no issues.

Evil_ss, how was the footrest install? Did it need any drilling like the other pedals?

My 328i M-sport 2012 didn't either come with the stainless footrest . I want to buy the M-Performance pedals and now I have to pay extra for the footrest .

Thanks guys for the feedback.
Got mine a few weeks back and just installed them the other day.
The fit is SUPER snug on the brake and clutch. At first I didnt think it would even go on but after working the rubber around a bit it seems to fit well.

As for the gas pedal, I simply slid it on and it doesnt even seem to move. I didn't even utilize the 3M two sided tape. Just left it there without peeling it.
Looks beautiful! Now all the pedals match the foot rest!

How do you install the M Performance footrest, do you need to drill or is it taped?

I also have now changed to M Performance pedals and it looks much better now . Drilling the brake pedal was a challenge but if you are careful and use quality drills then it will go smooth. I started with 1/8 (3,2 mm) and then finnished with 5/32 (4 mm) drill, thanks guys for the tips . Now i only have left to fix the M Performance rear diffuser and M Performance exhaust.

Hi,

Having read this post and really liked the looks of the brushed aluminum pedal covers, I must confess that I took the easy route and got a set of no-drill covers from eBay for about $39 (inluding shipping) from KBH_Motors: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161623574633...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Took about 15-20 minutes including taking off the original covers. Have had them on for about a month with no problems

Attached are what they look like

May be a dumb question, but I'm about to try this DIY thanks to your helpful post. I have a dremel rotary tool, but how do I use that to pilot the hole? Is there a specific attachment I need (I use it predominantly to sand down my dog's nails...yep, I'm pretty handy).

Would a center punch accomplish the same thing?

Hi all thanks for this great DIY!

I have a question regarding the height of the gas pedal.

Is it pretty much at an even level with the brake pedal after install?

It seems like the m performance brake pedal replaces oem while the gas pedal goes on top of stock so it should increase the relative height of the gas pedal.

Can anyone confirm?

Gas, Brake M Pedal Install

As usual I found it more time consuming doing it myself. I try to be as careful as possible so I don't make mistakes that I am sorry for later. It took me about 2 hrs to completely finish including vacuuming and clean up. It turned out great though and is worth the effort. Sure seems the brake pedal could be a little easier though. Gas pedal only took 5-10 min.

I installed mine a few days ago - first of all, with the aid of some of the posts in this thread, this was a 20 minute install. With the right - powerful - drill, and - titanium - bits, there's zero issue drilling through the pedals.

Second, these are extremely thin. After installation, the relative offset of the pedals compared to stock seems to be entirely unchanged.

I should have chimed in too.

I got the replicas and it does seem to add some height to it - I am able to physically heel toe unlike before where it was very hard unless you were really stepping on the brake.

But physically being able to do it and being proficient at it are totally different! =)

Great DIY thread! Knowing the bit sizes to pre-drill the brake pedal helped a lot. In the end it actually took me 3 hrs -_-; using pliers to hold onto the washers to screw them in was a pain...
