It depend on which screen you have:

DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION

OPTIONS
6.5_800x480 = 00
8.8_1280x480 = 01
10.25_1280x480 = 02
10.25_1600x600 = 03
rse_9.2_800x480 = 04
rse_10.x_1280x72 = 05

Could you please tell which native resolution corresponds to the X5 Professional Nav system?
Thanks!

Y'know what plays terribly on an M4? Displays both letterboxed and pillarboxed (so a small video rectangle surrounded by black)? Won't actually play the video because "That feature isn't supported"?

Yes. That's correct. My original BMW Films disc from back when they mailed out discs to owners years ago, that's what.

You can encode video for the correct dimension and then there are no boxes.

You don't find it ironic that slipping BMW's own DVD into a BMW-labeled DVD drive on a BMW doesn't actually work in terms of viewing?

I figured I could probably mess with coding to fix resolution. I'm not sure how to fix the issue of being unable to get past the (very tiny) main menu screen.

I understand the irony, but I have also never put a single disc in my current BMW's. DVD's have enough storage space that designed correctly, you could choose type of screen you are using so aspect ratio was correct.

Additionally, I found it strange that BMW marketing sent me USB drive with dated videos that were not relevant to current vehicles or anything yet to come.

Depends on the media file itself. If you play a movie that's 16:9 full HD you'll see it in full screen
