You can remove stations from your preset selections to make that list shorter.

+1 - Set up the FM stations you want to "keep" as presets and don't use the FM option.

Yes but this is only the half answer. You're be able to program appx. 8 Stations to your favbuttons, but you arent be able to clean the scroll list of alltogether available stations. Thats one of the unnecessary features of BMW. IMO the next one is, in my case I arent be able to set the desired TMC station by myself but BMW picks the "correct" and I havent any influence of that, what a bummer.

Sure you can - "Radio"/"Presets".

I'm not taking about the 8 hard buttons - "software" presets.

Which "list view"? There are a couple of things to which that might refer.

If you're talking about the list of all available stations within range, then you actually have a shorter list due to your car's not listing frequencies that are unavailable. Otherwise, you'd just have a list of every possible frequency for that band in your country.

Yeah, the list view of available stations. There are half a dozen I would love to just drop entirely if possible. I will *never* listen to those and prefer to cut the scrolling down a bit.

Yeah, presets are great and I use them, but I also use the list view a lot too. Just sayin.

Ah. For that, by definition, the fix is to drive out of range of those stations.

^this

The 8 buttons are programmable to anything. The radio presets is different entirely. From the radio options (fm, am, satellite, presets) go to presets and add them there. Not sure how many you can store but its way more than 8. You can get to the list view by selecting 'view presets' or whatever the first option is in the presets screen. Add every station except the one you dont want and your problem is solved. Then you can set 'presets list' to one of your physical 1-8 memory buttons if you want

The list is there mainly for when you're roaming away from your usual stations, so it's going to show everything within range of where you are when you view it. To do what you want to would require another level of programming that doesn't exist.

I suspect that this fellow does not realize that he can make a list view of stations he wants. Other posters have already told him it's called Presets. Other people thought they were referring to the hard buttons 1-8, which can be used for way more than radio, but the Presets is a list view in the idrive display

OP,
Our car has three lists of available stations (FM/AM/Satellite) and one custom list called Presets that can be any combo of your favorite FM/AM/Satellite stations. When selecting radio stations via a list view within your normal commute area, Presets is the place to go. Hit the radio button and push the idrive controller left to switch the list to Presets. When tuning into a station you like, I think you have to push right on the idrive controller to find the option to save it to your Presets list.

Only use the other three lists to see available stations when traveling beyond your normal radio station area, in which case no one would need to exclude a station because how did you even know you hate it?
