Key fob buttons not working but comfort access working just fine!!!

Hi guys so I mostly use comfort access to lock/unlock my car but today I tried using the key fob to do both and the buttons did not work also the trunk button did not work, I was wondering if anyone has had any similar problem or if there is a fix to this, thanks in advance

Your key fob may need new batteries

Resurrecting this as I am having the exact same issue. Brand new battery, tested @ 3v. Comfort access works but none of the keyfob buttons work.

Did you get this resolved OP?

Have you tried both key FOBs?

The comfort access function interacts with different sensors (proximity) than the buttons (arial).

Try cleaning the battery contact in the key fob. I changed the batteries in mine and it didn't work until I cleaned the contact with alcohol or another good electrical cleaner.

Any additional updates on this issue?
I am having the same problem. Dealer changed battery and was not able to make it work. Stated I need a new Key Fob so I hope for an updated solution to this. My second key fob works just fine.

If your second fob works fine, your first fob is the issue

Reviving an old thread, but did you ever find a solution to this issue? I have the same exact thing happening and it isn't the batteries. Neither of my fobs work, I've swapped batteries with a buddy who has the same exact fob, still doesn't work, but his fob worked with my battery. Car is a 2016 f30 340i. Comfort access works, car starts fine but no buttons on the fobs work at all

I am having the same issue. First one stopped working after a trip to the dealer and now after a software upgrade the second one stopped working.

Tell the dealership to pack it in with the software updates if they are going to keep breaking the car.

Ironically, both key fabs starting working this afternoon (about 6 hours later). It has to be a software issue.
