How expensive is this going to be???

2014 328d with 107,000k

Son was backing out of his parking spot and when he went to turn the wheel, started this horrendous racket.

Does it in park, drive and reverse if there is any steering wheel movement.

I hope the previous seller didn't just dump their headaches on you.
Or at least hope it was cheap.

Steering rack is probably not horribly expensive used from a yard. It will need programming.

Yeah, I think I got totally hosed. I am not sure what to do. Keep piling money in it or try and sell it and lose money to get away from it. The fuel mileage is so awesome though and that was what I was after. I've gotten 48mpg consistently on highway.

Do you think it is the steering rack as well?
