Coding Blind Spot Detection
Is it possible to code a 328i to activate the blind spot detection under 35mph. I have a friend who wants to buy one but he insists that the blind spot detection be active at all speeds.
Thanks in advance. |

If the car is equipped with Blind Spot Detection, it can be coded down to 20 km/h (~12 mph) at the lowest.

You can definitely code it to lower speeds. I have mine at 30km/h.
The lower you have it though the greater the false detection rate. I will probably code mine back to normal when I can be bothered as I find that the warning triangle is going off more often when there is nothing in my blind spot. |

The system can only generate information or a warning reliably, if the road speed is greater than 50 km/h (31 mph). The function will work at speeds under 50 km/h (31 mph), but not with the high quality and reliability required by BMW. In order not to compromise on the satisfaction of discerning BMW customers, no information or warnings are issued at speeds below 50 km/h (31 mph).

Yes, that was meant to support your observation of false warnings.

My 2013 328i works just fine at the BSD activation speed coded to 30km/h (~19 mph). The default speed of 50km/h (~31 mph) is almost useless for local driving in my area.

Blind spot coding 2018 340i
Hey guys,
I am super new to the forum, bought a 2018 340i MPPSK a couple weeks ago. I hate how the blind spot signal only comes on at the speed of 50kmph. I also got the bimmercode app to code it. For some reason in the ICM module I don't see an expert mode. What should I do? |

Bringing this back to life...
In Bimmercode there is no option for expert mode or a speed less than 55k/ph in the options in my G30. Is this something that needs ESys? TIA |
