I thought the same thing... some people don't understand how this reflects on the shops quality control / workmanship....

Just a little update everything is apart. We replaced the pistons & rods. Ending up snapping a piston ring last week but got the pet back and are finalizing the last one!

Should have pictures of the final product from the shop soon with the heads back on

Again, please don't be afraid to speak your guys mind. I want this post zone to be a conversation started so if you see something you think could help with the build or just see something you have questions about put it on a repost. You may not be the only one thinking the same thought.

Just some progress pictures.

Tonight we will have everything assembled and back together. I some how sold my wasteguage actuator with my old turbo set up so have to wait till Monday for the new one to get here. Did learn though with this kit the BMS Meth Kit Spacer is a littler nicer than the one provided by the BogBoost kit (being honest) so I will be using that one instead. Also learned a couple more things about kit.

I have plans on doing some custom work on this set up as well maybe swap some stuff, again still all in the works but besides that a very well planned kit!

I would like to see the rod bearing wear if possible. How many miles were on them?

Car has 17,8++ miles on it. Attached you should find hopefully the answer to that question. I can grab some more when I go to the shop later this weekend. All I did was blow up that last post pictures honestly just FYI

After comparing both stock pistons and rods to the CP set up... I have to say the Rod itself is pretty damn strong the heads on the other hand are very very thin could definitely see it being vulnerable after extreme beating

Thanks. From this pic its hard to see anything. Hoping to see if there was any scoring on the bearings or heat mark. It would give us an idea how they are wearing and if there is possibility of premature failure.

Gotcha, I'll put a reminder in my phone and grab some pictures to better assist!

Let's be real, everyone throws out a different power figure because no one is really running the R&D. It might show that things are running well but dynoing 600hp is one thing. Beating on it for years is another. Unless they are building tearing down and rebuilding to analyze components then their feedback doesn't mean much.

I have a lot of trust in our engines based on the design but people like Tyler that will build and drive their cars will be the real testers to illustrate what the car can handle.

Hi what bearings are you going with? These engines usually have unique rod bearings for each engine for each rod journal (usually marked on the crankshaft of each engine). Are you going to ignore the factory recommendation and just get a standard set of high performance bearings for all rods?

Exactly, I plan on really getting to the bottom on this test about what these engines can really handle! Don't get me wrong it's great that these kits have great numbers on them & that's what helps promote business but the longevity of what happens when you daily these cars is the real question that we all want to know.
