Standard NBT iDrive - Carplay Options

Quite fancy CarPlay as I love my iPhone and would be nice to have Waze as well as the other benefits.

Have been doing my research before buying my car and from searching I only came across one place that does wireless CarPlay. Also states it doesn't affect the standard iDrive functions and you can just switch between the two with ease.

WIRELESS APPLE CAR PLAY RETROFIT FOR FACTORY CIC & NBT ID4 SYSTEMS. PLUG AND PLAY. F1X F2X F3X

Charging £475

Anyone used them and is there a potential for a deal to be had if we do a bulk buy if there are other who are after this.

Hello, I've never used them but have retro fitted an NBT with the help of some guys on here, mine came with the 6" screen :-/
The process described looks to be similar to the installation of a box made by AVIN (Or a cheap knockoff! lol). Im sure there were some on here that have installed them successfully themselves without issue. I guess the value comes down to the quality of the user interface of the unit they put in. I'd want to know a bit more about the android box before I took the plunge. Good luck!

So I have been doing a lot of googling and reading into what is offered by the cheaper options and also the more expensive options available.

And it seems they are all more or less the same, functionality is the same as well as how they are wired and work. I guess it does come down to quality but then at the end of the day all of these are made in China. We go with the one that is more well know so there is nothing to say they are not buying the cheap ones and just charging more

I am going to take a punt and see what one of the cheaper options are like and will update on here once I get it and have it installed.

I've had a couple of the Avin units and have been more than happy with it, as long as you realise they are not OEM and will have unique foibles.

Well the kit has arrived. Super quick delivery from the guys at ADC. however absolutely no instructions included and there's various settings / switches that need to be set.

Have requested infos on this.

Nice, that is quick.

If you get a chance can you upload pictures of the kit, would be interested to see what the modules look like. When I asked them they only sent me a generic picture of the unit and didn't really want to send anymore so was a bit hesitant about it.

The Andream wireless carplay boxes are less than £200 from AliExpress and they are getting good reports up to now. Got one myself but not tried fitting it yet.
