The Miura is certainly a pretty thing, and one of the best looking cars ever made, but on a personal level I don't find it any more attractive than many other contenders seen so far. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say, and is infinitely subjective. One man's munter is another man's Claudia Schiffer, as it were....

I would say cars like the original Citroen DS or the Mercedes 300 SL roadster are equally - if not more so to my eye at least - beautiful.

From those posted already - F40 and 635CSI are two of my faves.

And obviously I'm biased but I love taking the bins out as an excuse to walk past it 9 months on. Though these pictures were taken by a previous owner when the wheels and grill was black, but he's a much better photographer than me as much as I've tried!

Came across a real hidden gem today, the Moulsdale Foundation collection of cars & motorbikes, just to the north of Glasgow. An astonishing assemblage of classic & modern icons that includes some really beautiful old Italian, German and British examples. Everything is in concours condition, lord alone knows the value of the collection.

It includes David Coulthards racing cars, Colin Macrae’s Subaru, delta HF integrales, Porsche and Mercedes examples both old and new, Group B rally cars and at least a dozen Ferraris.

Well worth a visit - at present the collection is only open to the public once a month, with the £30 entry fee going to charity

Some lovely metal that caught my eye… (sorry, can’t for the life of me figure out how to rotate some of these. New iPhone photo manager is utter shit )

We all know what they look like, the BMW Z4 coupe (in either 3.0 or M trim) is one of the most beautiful cars ever built.

'Only' 260hp and a 0-60 of close to 6 seconds mean that there are plenty of faster cars out there. But that's OK. It means people get to drool over it for longer as you go past them

Had one (3.0Si) for a few years. Still sorely tempted to buy another and put it away, got a good storage garage with heating and everything ...

I still find myself admiring the F-Type. In the right colour they are stunning - this would be my choice:

I had one for a while, they have a bit of a cut price Aston look about them, and they are pretty I will give you that, Other than straight line go it was a disappointing car in every other way though!

It’s a shame that they aren’t the full package. I did briefly consider a new P450 a couple of years ago but coming from my previous 840i, the interior felt too much of a step down. I didn’t even get as far as driving one. Still very beautiful and they make a great noise.

And that brings us to back to what matters about a car. So little chance to really test the handling in everyday life, or the performance really... so it's all about how it makes you feel. The interior of the F type isn't great - but to me the outside is. And if it makes a nice noise, goes pretty well (ultimate performance irrelevant, can't use it!), and is decent to drive in terms of comfort and practicality, why not....

I would have one as a toy. With a fold down roof...

Well for me It was not a decent to drive, rather bland in fact! Numb, detached, cossetted but could be a good mile muncher if thats what interests you in a sports car! The noise of this now old V8 is quite crude and not refined like well engineered V8's, the interior was dreadful, cheap plastics and fake stitching a plenty, like sitting in a tube, quite easily the worst thing about the car, and I've seen £20k cars with better materials and more premium feel! So that leaves looks and you are better off getting a poster!

No wonder Jaguar are on there knees.

and you can still go fast, you just need to pick your times and days! I had a blast on Christmas morning, I was out for an hour and half and had the whole place to myself!

I agree with most whats been posted in here, two im not so sure on is the R34 GTR, but the back end 1/4 profile is actually massive compared to the rest of the car, it just looks a bit proportionally wrong. And i love everything about the Prodrive bar the front headlights, They ruin the whole car haha! And the mk5 Golf, nope, very very bland side.

The DB5 is a work of art, the Type 57C is again stunning in every detail. And maybe im bias, but the Mk1 Focus RS has stood the test of time!

Little bit biased had one for nearly 18 years but yes I agree, 60 comes up in a quoted 5.6 seconds it has close to 190hp/tonne as it's pretty light at sub 1400kg.

They are a lovely things especially if you get one with the rare option of the extended leather and the interior design has aged very well, it's not 360 car for me thought as the front lets it down more of a 270 degree car.
