Roof Spoiler–The Equivalent of the Red Start/Stop Button for the Exterior of your Car
Roof Spoiler – The Equivalent of the Red Start/Stop Button for the Exterior of your Ride.
Name of Product: IKON MOTORSPORTS Roof Spoiler Compatible With 2012-2018 BMW 3 Series F30 Sedan 4-Door Get it here: https://www.amazon.com/Roof-Spoiler-2011-2016-2012-2018-Style/dp/B07D492MCS?th=1 Seller’s Installation Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3eMk-yPaXg I was looking for an understated way to differentiate the exterior appearance of my 335i (sportline) from the seemingly dozens of other F30s that populate my office parking garage. In my mind, these were some ideas that I was pondering: • Change up the bumper appearance? No, too expensive and involved of an investment for me. • Upgrade to a new set of wheels? Well, I actually like my stock Style 397s. • Go to an all-black kidney grille? Seems like a lot of people already have done that. • Maybe a trunk spoiler? Most I’ve seen seem a tad bulky. So, for an amount that some might consider an impulse purchase, I decided to add a roof spoiler. Fitment looks fine and you can even purchase these color-matched to your vehicle. The width of the spoiler is about a mere 3”, so it won’t obstruct the view when you/your backseat passengers are looking out the rear window in any way. I guess the only thing that I wonder about (which I can answer in a future comment) is how well the install (which is secured to the glass by a lot of industrial-grade 3M tape) will stay in place after a few trips to the car wash and/or after a few downpours. Pics below. In that photo with the two identical looking cars parked next to each other, mine (with the roof spoiler) is on the left. Overall and IMHO though, it does for the outside of my car what the red start/stop button does for the inside of your car – absolutely nothing! Even so, I do fancy it as a subtle design bump. From my experience with the G2 kit, I'd set aside at least half a day if you keep the calipers on the car. The cleaning/prep will take a good while, because as with any paint project, proper preparation is key. Depending on the state of your brakes, this could take 15-20 mins per caliper, potentially upwards of half an hour. I'd recommend putting the car up on stands (assuming you don't have a lift) and removing all 4 wheels. This would take about 30 mins in and of itself. That puts you at upwards of 2-2.5 hours before any paint even hits the calipers. Figure you want at least 3-4 coats with drying time in between, even going from one caliper to the next around your car and immediately starting the next coat on the caliper you started with, I'd estimate approx. 45 mins per round; that puts you at around 3 hours for 4 coats. Total time to this point is around 6-6.5 hours plus any breaks to get up and stretch, eat, etc. Add in the curing time, and you're looking at pretty much a full 24 hours of not driving your car.

Anti sieze is for bolts. Use mob grease instead on the hub surface.
I installed the second (glovebox) usb, and a slightly larger black slip on tip on the f31d.

I'm not as skilled as many of you, but I recently bought a CPO 2017, when I was washing I noticed the tow cover was damaged / broken. BMW OEM sells unpainted only. So I looked on Ebay and found a perfect match jet black for a $15.00. I was very happy with this solution. By the other side, I'm expecting some material to proceed with paint correction. It is incredible the quantity of swirls in this car... Seems previous owner was only going to rough brushing car washes the whole time.

Where are you putting the anti-seize? I'd just put a ring around the hub where wheel sits on. I wouldn't use it on wheel lugs. I've also spread it lightly on the rotor hat, avoiding getting close to the lug threads.

Try also adding it around the lip of hub protruding through the rotor hat...the wheel can get stuck on that too. That little 1/4" ring...might help a lot.
While I'm here...discovered a regular bungie cord slips behind the battery cover and makes that corner a little more useful for storing stuff. It slides up and down easily, too.

Where did you purchase the tip? Did you measure the exhaust pipe when you removed the original tip?

Actually drove mine today to the next state over to buy a bottle of booze since my governor imposed his own personal prohibition.
The tires were square and flat spotted after sitting so long.
