Tyres for XC90
I have 22” wheels on my XC90, with little tread left on the tyres. I thought I’d sell my 19” set with winter tyres as I think I’ve retired from the almost annual skiing trip and drive, and get all seasons when replacing the 22s.
But, quick scan on tinternet they are seriously expensive - some over £500! Any ideas - is it just the rarity and size? 275/35 R22

We have an XC90 on 22". I have always used the Scorpion Verde's year round. Yes they are technically a summer tyre but given we live in the south of the UK at the XC90 it not really an off roader I have never had an issue with them.
https://www.blackcircles.com/catalog...?tyre=36818864 As a side note, while I love the XC90, I hate the size of the wheels. We have had to have 2 bent alloys repaired and one cracked alloy replaces. We have also had 3 tyres go out of round mid way through their life and then have to be replaced. On top of that, owning a car with air suspension out of warranty scares me and the only reason the XC90 needs air suspension is to make the ride tolerable with the size of the wheels. I am shortly going to be chopping the car in for another XC90 but this time with 21"s and on a lease. |

Thanks. I’ve been looking at used 20s on eBay! I’ve been lucky with my wheels but it does ride firm, despite air suspension. The Scorpions seem well regarded, cheers.
