F30 N55 Active Autowerke Exhaust

Any review/feedback on the Active Autowerke F3X N55 (335i) ? I have seen one video on youtube posted by Autowerke and they said the car had no other mods. It sounds really good but wondering who has experienced it first hand.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Ironic that you ask.. I literally just posted my DIY install video of this exhaust in my F32! Here is the link, and I will post a DIY as well.

It looks like the pipes don't exactly line up and they seem to stick out unusually far. Did you get this issue resolved? What was the cause?

Would you recommend this exhaust over the MPE?

the left side is adjustable so any misalignment would be my fault..i have adjusted both tip angle and slid the tips back significantly further than my first video.

I just installed mine last week. As far as hardware the exhaust is great quality and looks really good, installation is simple enough thanks to Raichean for the install video! As far as sound I would have to say it's more mild then it sounds on some of the videos. Not very loud at all and I have a high flow cat, but for me that is a good thing as I didn't want anything too loud just to liven up the car a bit. Speaking of livening up the car the power gains with my HFC are definitely there. It's only been on for about 200 miles so maybe it will get louder. I think at this price range it's probably the best exhaust you can get and it still adds power.

Did it come with a mid-pipe?

It does not come with a mid pipe. It is installed just past the resonator.

I'm glad you guys are luckier than I was. I haven't heard back from the company and don't think I will. The can flap module would not attach not a big deal hasn't been connected since my JB4 has been on. the right side the angle of the tip and pipe is slightly more angled witch bothers me no adjustment can change that. Sound wise I love it not annoying in any way and apparently screams from the outside when WOT.

Damn the fitment would drive me crazy! Any pics? I'm glad it sounds good.

I am still deciding between the MPE, Active or Fabspeed muffler delete.

If your deciding between MPE and AA that's fine. But I think the Fabspeed muffler delete doesn't compare I'm assuming it's going to be A LOT louder. The AA exhaust is very mild, I'm actually thinking of doing a resonator delete to see if I can change the tone a bit just not sure if I want to deal with extra drone. Plus I heard rumors that removing the resonator will cause too much back pressure drop which will result in a minimal loss of performance.

I know the muffler delete is left field compared to the AA & MPE, but that's what im thinking. I dont want the AA to not be aggressive enough. But i also dont want to pay $800 for a dame muffler delete. I just want POPS!!! and i dont want to spend more that $800

Used MPE + Resonator delete, no drone, and pops like mad when in sport.

And what's your experience with the so called loss in performance ? Would you say it's true? Or just speculation?

This was right after I installed it its slight and hard to get in picture the right pipe angles down slightly instead of coming out straight.

Huge speculation, car is the same. I read those comments, but knew it was their "butt-dyno" and didn't let it affect my decision.

The alignment of the right side tip can be adjusted by twisting the connecting pipe that connects the muffler to the OEM mid section.

Yeah, N55s only have one resonator. About a foot behind the muffler.

AA is one of our most popular exhausts for this car ... If installed correctly tips will pointing straight and sound is amazing!
