bootmod3 (Unofficial) - Log Repository [No Discussions]

Wanted to open this thread so that we all had a place to share our current tune and the logs that we ran. As the OBD unlock gains its popularity (even moreso than it has), I feel like this thread may serve a good purpose of allowing a single place to share our logs with the masses. What I am hoping this thread does is prevent logs from getting lost in the shuffle of discussion threads.

Let's try to keep this page clean of any discussions, and only use it as a repo for our logs. Please use the post # as a reference in other discussion threads

Observations and comments:

Clearly the early 93 maps were requesting too much boost, resulting in throttle closures as MAP was tapered to a normal range. Boost request on 91 maps looks to be better, but intermittent timing issues arise including some high RPM knocks.

Are we suppose to talk about our logs or just post them. I think it makes sense to discuss the findings as well. But up to you. I added comments to mine.

Model n55ewg
Stage 2
Version 6

Brand fuel Mobil

Link 2 http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5aac4e54d10b43251c8572b1

Observations and comments : I get great timing. Map looks powerful. Car runs smooth. I don’t seem to hit boost targets until high gears. When I do run a lot of boost in the higher gears it seems the fuel pump can’t keep up and psi drops drastically. I raised a ticket. Feedback was that this is normal. And not to worry unless it’s below 1500psi. Yet the maps show psi below 1500. So go figure. I am slightly worried but not doing anything about it.

Mods: brand new ngk plugs gapped to 0.02, catless dp, afe pro dry filter

Thought my stumble issues were solved with the new plugs... ya right lol!! Check out the log this is fawked. this amazing shudder makes the front end of the car feel like it's gonna fall off. This has happened a number of times over the last few weeks with bm3 and I also had this issue intermittently with jb4. So weird that last night car felt smooth as butter, this morning on the way to work felt amazing, driving home from work... knew something was up it just felt like it was about to cough and sneeze if I just tapped the pedal in a way it didn't like! This car and tune and this bunk ass gas up here in Saskatchewan just do not seem to be able to figure out if it wants to run smooth and be happy or if it is going to blow up.
I'm pissed.

Some more logs - things are improving for the car now after this latest map revision from Halim. Still getting some knocks but I don't get any stuttering/stumbling under load now in lower RPMs, nor do I get much by way of throttle closures. Car definitely feels smoother, not quite as aggressive as even the 91 tune but smooth and a little more consistent in timing.

So while there are no stumbles/hesitations experienced in V7, some of the same issues are present on my car, and a new issue of the HPFP not able to keep up with the target which hasn't been the case before. I think so far I've had the best results on the PTF revised map they did for me.

For posterity

Model: N55 PWG
Stage: 2
Version: 7
Octane Map: 91
Brand-Octane Fuel Used: Husky 94
Link: http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5add08a1d10b430657a0a3e7
Observations: Car feels pretty decent, a couple of knocks but not too bad and timing advances nicely. A little concerned about the HPFP dip and inability to meet target. Some over boost resulting in throttle closure. Other logs were worse for this.
Mods: FBO

Also since I am bored I decided to compare 60-100 runs. Disclaimer: I wasn't actively trying to do 60-100 as quickly as possible so a couple shifts may be fractions slower, but I generally began WOT at the same RPM. I hit 60 mph between 3900 and 4000 rpm on all runs and shifted at between 5800 and 6000 rpm.

PTF revised map V2 for 93 w/94 oct fuel: 6.58 sec
PTF revised map V2 for 93 w/94 oct fuel (2): 6.51 sec
OTS V7 93 oct. map w/94 oct fuel: 6.50 sec
OTS V7 91 oct. map w/94 oct fuel: 6.44 sec
OTS V6 91 oct. map w/91 oct fuel: 5.96 sec (v-power ftw???)

All I can gather is that they are close enough, so go with the cleanest running map, which is still the PTF revised one they did for me. Yes it seems more conservative but not by a lot. Changing plugs next and will continue to report back..

Brand-Octane Fuel Used: Chevron (E85 provided by Pearson Fuels at the same Chevron)
Link: http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5b09b67dd10b432f2edcca10
Observations: This is a long pull. 8at 3rd gear though 6th (~140mph). Think IAT is causing the timing to break up in long pulls. Will upgrade to VRSF Race IC in future. HPFP dip, but recovers nicely.
Mods: FBO (no cat, VRSF Street IC, BMS intake, ER CP, M Performance exhaust, NGK 95770 @0.018, E38)
Got some new logs for the race gas OTS map.

Model: N55 EWG
Stage: 2
Version: 6
Octane Map: Race gas OTS
Brand-Octane Fuel Used: VP Racing 101oct pump gas with E85 (~102oct).

http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5b245d27d10b4304d3cee04a
Observations: One of the logs is up to 155mph. Race gas OTS uses the exact same boost target as E30 OTS. Wish I would have known this before filling up with $100 of race gas
Mods: FBO (no cat, VRSF Street IC, BMS intake, ER CP, M Performance exhaust, NGK 95770 @0.018, E30 using 101oct as base fuel)

Went to the strip yesterday, car performed flawlessly. Ran a half bottle of NOS octane boost, y'all can say what you want, my timing has never looked better. I do have a small concern around the amount of boost it is building - something doesn't seem right with the boost target and MAP values...

Model: N55 PWG
Stage: 2

Octane Map: 93
Brand-Octane Fuel Used: Petro Can 94 w/ half bottle of NOS octane booster

Observations: Car felt fantastic and strong throughout the pull (aside from a bit of a bogged launch). One knock event in first, then strong, consistent timing throughout the run. Boost levels a concern?

Brand-Octane Fuel Used: Sunoco 93 + 5oz boostane

Observations: Pulled great, timing looks fantastic. Not sure if the good results are from the sunoco or the extra boostane in this tank (i used to run shell and had crap results)
