Under 2 weeks to go now.

- Interior trim changed to CF

- MPE is added

- eBay deal CF mirrors to drop off

- Insurance sorted

- Used M Perf V2 Wheel purchased from forum, heading off for a trip to Royal Steering wheels for a Vejazzle

- Dealer confirmed they're not applying Seal & Protect - DETAILER to sort

Any string recommendations for Chester/Manchester please?
https://www.facebook.com/centraldetailinguk

Saw these guys work on another dark M3, my goodness looked a different car. Remit would be minor paint correction and ceramic coating.

Tick Tock, times moving slooooooowwwwlwlllllyyyyyy.

Your next milestone will then be the RIS - mine goes in on Friday (it's taken me 2 months to do 1500 miles which is taking some adjustment as I used to do 25-30k/annum) & then at long last I can stop having to change up early @ 5000 just as things start to get really feisty Then apparently it takes around 5000 miles for the MPE get's to maximum, can it really get that much louder?

PS - has your dealer got your MPE in - or were you getting it after collection - it delayed mine by a few weeks as I didn't want it until the MPE was on...

Hi, 2 months, wow, low miles! My dealer was ordering in the MPE or had it in stock in their group. I do feel sort of 'lukcy' to get the timing just right, I wonder if it make a comeback as OEM for the F8X at all, or if it will exist on the G8X. Should do as the F90 M5 has an option for it.

Quick one too, thought the RIS has to be within 100 miles of the 1200? Or was that it could be under 100 but over more?

The RIS can be up to 500 over... It was unavoidable for me really as my miles have been hard to predict and I had an unplanned last minute 300 mile trip I had to do (and I wasn't going to do it in my son's Micra )...

I'm sure the MPEs will return - just seems there was a massive rush for manufacturers to get every option combination impacting emissions tweaked and tested so non-essential items had to go...

It is a specific service so best to ring up then - they change all the oils not just engine (or should!) and enable Launch Control...

Not too sure sorry Rob, defo one of the lesser services, they are strict about the mileage too, sounds like 1100 - 1700 but Chester advised me of tighter margin than that on the M2 & M4. They were both on service packs, hence why I'm not too certain of the one of cost.

Seems a big variance across the dealers - low £200s to £400+... £250-£300 seems a realistic target... I went for Service Inclusive so I don't know how much mine will be!

Have you not got the countdown mileage showing on the idrive? All of my M4's had it showing from collection day warning of service needed at 1200 miles.

The RIS involves changing engine oil, filter and dif oil - along with enabling the launch control as has been said.

Cost wise I had a few quotes around the £340 mark but after a bit of haggling paid £296

I didn't go for the service pack as IMO it's not worth it unless you are doing 13k miles a year (and I'm not) and you won't get the big £1150 ish) service before you hit 36k miles.

All of mine were serviced between 1100 and 1200 miles

Agree, had service packs on previous cars, but worked out it wasn’t worth it for me on this one with them being 3 years now. Only asked price as I’m not used to phoning up and haggling on service costs.

Rob check the F8X UK.

Post there about it, HJ Warrington £260!

Think they're trying to rinse you at £419.
Unless 'fluffers' are included?

I found a huge difference in the "big" service.

£1170 at my local stealer - £950 60 miles away.

I'll be having a day out (caveat: if I've still got it then )
