Advice for F31 330D Xdrive

Hey people,

Currently have a set of after market VMR wheels with BMW recommended Bridgestone runflats. I decided I want to go back to the OEM look though so had the 403M's powder coated and want to move away from run flats for a better ride, plus they are massively cheaper (in most cases).

Does anyone have a touring xdrive and would recommend a particular (summer) tyre?

I believe my set up is going to be:
Front: 225/40R19
Rear: 255/35R19

Heard good things about the Michelin Pilot Super Sport's and previously had the Goodyear Eagles F1 Asymmetric 2's which were awesome (Fitted to a Focus ST).

Any help would be much appreciated, I'll be looking to get a set of winter tyres later on in the year.

Cheers

Hi. I switched from Bridgestone RFT to Michelin PS4 non-RFT on my F30 335d - made a big improvement to ride and grip. I hear the PS4S are even better although not tried these myself yet. Its worth considering going for a square set up on the staggered wheels which should help with the X Drive unsteer. I went for 245 section all round on the standard staggered wheels and works well.

Thanks mate, been looking at the PS4 also. Have you had the ACS springs fitted to yours as well? Thinking about getting that fitted soon after. Hopefully it should improve all round.

No - still on the standard suspension and it does feel a little softer now that the runflats have gone. Definitely considering ACS or Eibach springs.

Pilot Super Sport is much better than the F1s, I've owned both.
And PS4S would still be even better than that!
For a budget offering, check out the Firehawk Indy 500 as well.

Thanks. I'm swaying towards the PS4's. Especially as they seem to be cheaper than the super sports for some reason....

PS4S are exceptional tires but not for cold and winter driving conditions. You will need winter or all season tires for a few months of the year.

i have the ps4s for summer duty and they rock. im running a little bigger than stock at 235/265 on 8.5.9.5 respectively. I will say while they grip amazing, i cant anticipate them lasting more than 2-3 summers. If you want good performance and better wear look to the pilot sport as3+
