Advice/help with Forgestar Fitment Issue on F32

Hey folks, posted this on the chassis forum but I think this is a better place and perhaps the collective mind can help me, and if someone else has this issue, this may help them.

I purchased a set of Forgestar F14s for my F32 xdrive. The sizes are semi deep 19x8.5f and deep 19x9.5r.

The fronts fit fine, but I had an issue where the rear wheels would not fit because my hub bearing dust cap protrudes about 2-3mms longer than normal. See pic below of what it looks like.

That 2-3mm cap was enough such that the rears could not mount flush with the hub.

After going back and forth with **********s on this and trying different things, rather than replace the wheels, I went with 5mm spacers. Though, there are slight vibrations with the spacers installed (I believe because there isn't enough hub lip left to mount well, which also worries me) and the whole point of going with Forgestar was the custom offset and no need for spacers.

Problem is that I don't know what the offset is (I've asked Forgestar recently, haven't heard back yet). I'm assuming 35ET front and 42ET rear.

I am thinking about getting different wheels and want to make sure this doesn't happen again. If I were to replace the wheels, what sizes and offsets would you recommend given my longer hub dust cap in the rear? I was thinking 19x9.5 with offset in the 35-40 range. Thoughts?

Any other suggestions folks might have for this situation? I've done a ton of research on this, but I just can't seem to find anyone else who has had this problem. Hoping folks here can help. Thanks in advance!

I just purchased a set of F14's from **********s on Black Friday. I haven't gotten them yet, but the recommended sizes/offsets which I ordered for my f36 xdrive were:

19x9.5 +33 DC
19x10 +25 SDC

I thought about removing them, but wouldn't that be a non-starter if it exposes the bearings?

Thanks for the info! Awesome, congrats, love to see a pic when you get them on. I really like the look of these.

Hoping I can make mine work but I'm willing to go with something else if I can't.

this is fairly aggressive. what size tires are you going to use? you will have to add negative camber

It is about as aggressive as you can go with the f3x wheel wells from what I was told. I believe about 1 degree of negative camber with kw v2 coilovers and tires will be 225/40/19 and 255/35/19 respectively (and will still require fender rolling/slight pulling).

Thanks man. I should note that I'm lowered on KW V1's at just below max height. I see you are looking at V2's so thought I'd mention as I believe max on V2's is significantly lower than that. Also, I'm on DWS 06's, same size you are looking at.

Heard back from Forgestar. My wheels are 19x8.5 ET31 and 19x9.5 ET40. So, for my particular F32 hub situation, it looks like I'll need ET38 or less offset on a 9.5 inch rear wheel. I'm going to look into removing the hub bearing dust cap. If that doesn't work, smaller spacers, and if that doesn't work, I'll be offering a like-new set of Forgestar wheels for sale. 😊

Update on this thread...

I went in for an alignment after the KW V1 coilovers settled and the shop took off the hub bearing dust caps and found there were no exposed bearings. After removing the caps, the wheels fit perfectly with no spacers. The car drives awesome after the removal of spacers and alignment.

So, if others are in this situation, either get +37 ET wheels or remove your dust caps and rejoice. 🙌

wheel offset will not necessarily give you more hub clearance on most wheels. Forgestar may do things this way to save cost. They might have one hub thickness and mill it down for different offsets. That's not typical. The issue you were having was due to the distance between the wheel mounting surface and the center cap mounting surface.

Interesting, perhaps this is specific to Forgestar then and is not globally applicable to all wheels and offsets. I was looking at a set of 437M reps that were 19x9.5 ET37 as replacements. Thoughts on fitment?

Rear will work. Front will need a 3mm spacer with 255/35/19 tires. Just say no to reps though.
