BimmerCode Adapter - Vgate iCar Pro BLE

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is using the below adapter with BimmerCode and if it will work with an F31 330d? It is listed on BimmerCode's website but there is no specific mention of diesel vehicles and some adapters only seem to support petrol.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vgate-Diagn...A31U9UTK1XD2J2

I have to order it from Amazon UK and the only alternative would be the KIWI unit which is quite a bit more expensive. I would prefer WIFI over Bluetooth but it doesn't look like there is an alternative for iOS.

Cheers for any input.

Hi,

This is one of the best adapters to use with no issues at all regarding cost you get what you pay for.

Hey,

Yes I have the same Vgate BT4 adaptor and its working great. Its compatible with all F series cars, I use mine mostly with BimmerLink for diagnostics and general live data that can be got from an OBD port.
Also works seamlessly for coding with Bimmercode.
Hope that helps

vgate adapters no longer recommended

FYI... I just checked the adapters page at https://www.bimmercode.app/adapters/ and all of the vgate adapters now say "no longer recommended."

I bought a vgate iCar Pro when I coded my F34, and it worked fine... and I'm not sure why it's no longer recommended. I wrote Bimmercode an email and asked.

Does anyone here know?

Thanks!

No longer recommended, and in my case it no longer works. That could only be the result of the Bimmercode developer making it so. I had to get a Veepeak. My assumption is that Bimmercode told the adapter manufacturers that they'd have to pay a fee for the recommendation, and vgate refused.

I've been using this one for almost two years. I like the app that came with it because it gives me real time gauges, like a boost gauge, on my phone. Plus it has performance software to measure 0-60 and 1/4 mile so it's a nice toy to play with.

Mighty pricey. I don't need an adapter with apps for diagnostics, as I have a Foxwell.

My VGate BT adapter has been working brilliantly for over a year without issues. I use both BimmerCode & Torque Pro almost on a daily basis with no connection issues whatsoever.

I Just purchased the VEEPEAK recommenced by BimmerCode, have tried it on a 328 and M4, both supported, and cannot get it to connect to app. Followed all the directions, used both iPhone and iPad. IOS 13.3.1. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I bought my car, bimmercode, and the vgate icar in march and it feels like I totally customized my car, even though it's still stock. Using the android app, I coded

Auto on/off set always off
Enabled sport transmission (and wow)
Windows and roof open close with key fob
Passenger mirror tilt at 50% not 70%
Side mirrors open/close on lock/unlock
Digital speedometer
Raised xenon brightness and made them always on
Sport displays (didnt work on my idrive)
Tire temps displayed
Turned off idrive warning and seatbelt reminders

For those interested, my vgate came with this disclaimer so I gave it a shot and it worked seamlessly. Wifi off. Bluetooth music adapter unplugged. Airplain mode on. Android app.
