speaking of seat leather, check your back seats for this if you have leather:

had the dealer remove seat, unstaple leather, and stretch it tight. all gone now, but still annoying. i saw two other brand new cars on the lot that had this, but several also didnt...so its a toss up

That's really awful.
In my case, all other seats seem fine.
I saw 4 cars in the showroom with Coral Red Sport Seats and the leather was as stretched as Joan Rivers' face!

Had my F30 about 4 months now. Loving the car, but early on I've noticed two issues that I'm still experiencing now:
  1. Squeaking brakes during low speed braking (happens occasionally, not always).
  2. Minor rattling sound coming from somewhere between the two front seats.

Two weeks old:

1. Rusty seat bottoms and frames.
2. Abnormal wind noise (around the upper portion of the b-pillar)
3. Brake squeak.
4. Rattle(s) in dash area.

Previous E90: No issues.

I have the remote app, but I don't have the precondition feature or the ability to send mapping to the car. Anyone else lacking these features?

800 miles on the clock,
-squeaky brakes when stopping completely, went away by 600 miles.
-some kind of weird noise, coming from engine, cant tell if its air leak, or rattle, only happens under acceleration. drives me crazy
-really loud wind noise on highway going more than 70 mph.
I can live with the wind noise, but I cant deal with the engine noise under acceleration

I'll trade you your 335 engine note for my 328 engine note and your 70 mph wind noise with my 45 to 50 mph wind noise.

LoL. First world problems. These problems won't even qualify as real problems on consumer reports cuz there are no serious mechanical/electrical issues. I mean I had an old car that would just shut off while on the freeway going 70mph!!

wow I guessed I lucked out on mine with no problems. One thing I dont care for are the flimsy factory floor mats. And BTW I finally got that kick to open the trunk and it works every time.

Lower insurance rates? Because of bluetooth? Cant be a big difference though right?

I'm posting my issues cuz i'm really not happy with my f30.

My f30 is almost 4 months old, and last week suddenly my cigarette charger stopped working (so i couldn't charge gps/phone, .. anymore). No big deal i thought untill the next day suddenly i kept getting messages that my rear braking lights and indicators were broken. The weird thing is they actually did work. Then the next day, i kept getting more messages on my idrive that my lights were broken and my indicators and fog lights stopped working.

After that i came home and my trunk wasn't able to open anymore, it just kept fucking locked + my rear windows wouldn't open anymore. This is really fun if you have many stuff in your trunk at that moment. ...

I went to my garage, they said they never had seen this issue before and thaught that my central computer that manages all the electronics was acting up. They kept my car for 2 days and gave me a frigging 10 year old occasions car because their replacement cars were all taken already... (You should know it costed my 30 euros/2 days for gas, and normally with my car i tank for free with a tank-card from work ...). After 2 days i could go pick up my car, it seemed all ok, and a day after (today) i started getting messages on my idrive again about malfunctioning lights. So it seems its all starting over again.

I called my garage instantly and they asked me to bring in the car, wich means i have to take off time at work again (already lost 2 days for bringing/picking up the car) so it seems i'll probably end up getting an old 2nd hands car again, have to pay alot for gas and will be losing almost 4 day's off at work, with no garantuee it will be solved...

I'm really not happy with my new car and wished bmw did more to keep me satisfied or atleast help me better so it doesn't cost me that much of day off's at work and for the gas, because it's a production error under guarantee.

My advice is to really not buy this car of they can't get their electronics right or even get it fixed. it's really dangurous if your lights/indicators all go out when driving the highway when its dark in the winter.

Both of these things happened on my 2008 e90. the cigarette lighter is a simple fuse. I seem to recall the lock/trunk thing being tied to a bad electronic part in a door lock system.

Cool 3+ problems for 2013 335i M sport

1) Really poor Bluetooth mic. Quality. People tell me to call them back due to the very garbled sounds picked up by the mic

2) Driver window rolls up and sometimes comes down a few inches...

3)Moonroof shade friction when closing/opening

4)clunk noise heard when reversing

5) Squeaky brakes

Other than that....

Took the car in and had "team leader" drive with me and agree there was noise and should bring in to get fixed. On the scheduled service the service manager decided to tell me this is a "known" problem for which there is no fix, so wasted a bunch of time driving to the service dept to be told that.

The service manager also claimed the USB socket in the glove compartment can't deal with memory sticks larger than 1GB USB stick (I had used 4 & 8 Gbs). I very much doubt this (nothing in the manual says this) and will have to try and get fixed next time I feel like wasting time at this service department.
With regard to the USB stick, I believe this is known throughout the forum and is just the way it is. That is to say, it's not an issue with your car.

I picked up a teeny tiny 16GB USB stick and just keep it in the armrest console with a ton of music on it.

I'm at about 2500 miles and have had:

- 2 Limp Modes
- Sport Displays were in non-US units - recoding needed

and most recently

- a loud squeal upon engine start that is a result of the exhaust flap actuator moving into place

I need to take the car in in a few weeks to get the brakes bled and I plan to have then address the exhaust flap.

so my problems are these:

- had to fix my goodyear run flats twice(once i hit a pothole(my fault), second, had a bubble on the sidewall.

- seat rail corrosion

- steering wheel vibration(not too bad, not enough to really care too much if the dealership won't fix.)

-Wind noise, but nothing that music and conversation with people won't zone it out.

-Squeaky brakes only when it is cold.

Other than those things, its all good lol

The only unresolved issue of note is poor sound insulation and high intrusive road noise. They found nothing wrong and even non Runflats (or normal tyres) have cured the problem.

It really irks me that a Hyundai i40 or Nissan pulsar sedan are quieter than my car

Do you have wind noise as well or just the road noise? I have wind noise that becomes obtrusive over 45 mph. If I hold a glove or towel in the upper rear corner of the side window, along the b-pillar, it isolates it nicely. It is the same on the passenger side as well. My dealer is aware of it, but I suspect nothing will be able to be done to fix it, especially at this location. I don't see any gaps or anything that would lead me to believe an adjustment of any type would fix it. I believe it is just an inherent design flaw. I am going to try to get something manufactured to fit in this area that doesn't look as obvious as a towel duct taped to the window.
